Guests say

Sea Breeze is a well-loved cottage praised for its spaciousness, beautiful garden with sea views, and ideal location for exploring Northumberland's coast. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, family-friendly touches, and the peaceful surroundings. While some maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is of a relaxing and enjoyable holiday retreat.

The cottage is generally described as clean and comfortable. However, a few guests mentioned it could benefit from a deeper clean, particularly regarding pet odours and kitchen cleanliness. These are minor compared to the overall positive feedback on the property's tidiness.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, proximity to the sea, and accessibility to local attractions. Some concerns are raised about the busy road and difficulty walking to the beach with pets, but these do not detract significantly from the overall appreciation for the setting.

Guests find the cottage warm, comfortable, and well-equipped, contributing to a relaxing stay. Some guests suggest updates to furniture for additional comfort, particularly for those with mobility issues, but the general consensus is one of a cosy and inviting atmosphere.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and entertainment options. However, guests have suggested improvements in maintenance, such as paintwork, updating utensils, and securing the garden for pets. These points indicate room for improvement in this category.

While guests mention thoughtful touches like children's books, games, and welcome gifts, there is not enough consistent detail across reviews to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The garden was ideal for our dog, but more active or younger dogs may have been able to escape over a low section of fence or by climbing on top of the compost heap. When it rained heavily, water came under the back door which we had to mop up. Although the property was decorated nicely inside, the outside woodwork is in urgent need of painting and some repair where it is rotten. The was only just enough toilet roll !!! some spare would have been useful. If you stay in a hotel you are not expected to take your own toilet rolls. Bed linen is of poor quality.

Great spot to explore the coast from. House is well equipped and spacious. Nice touch of chocolates and wine on arrival. Lovely sunrises and sunsets. On a fairly busy road, which you don't notice in the house - and isn't too annoying in the garden either actually - but it does mean going anywhere on foot is a bit hairy as the grass verges can be very narrow and traffic passes fast. Didn't feel comfortable doing that with 2 daft dogs which meant the hoped for walk to the beach was off the cards. Several beautiful beaches just 5-10 mins away by car though and of course the coastal path.

We booked the property as a couple with a dog (young cocker spaniel) for the space, garden and proximity to High/Low Newton. The property- decent size but looking very tired. Some of the windows are rotting and the kitchen was dirty and not particularly well equipped. The inside was very basic, which I get if it's intended for families etc, but for £1200 for the week I'd expect better. Garden- again, good size and good views. NOT secure- there is a compost heap at the back which out dog managed to mount and jump over the wall initiating a chase round the fields. It reeks of laziness as it's where they dump thr grass rather than taking it away. Location- on a map, it looks a short walk to High/Low Newton. There is a footpath on the map, but this is on the map only. In reality it's a massively overgrown field you have to wade through, which we abandoned to just use the road. This was longer and much more dangerous given it's on a main road. Felt very much out on a limb. In short, disappointing for the money. Wouldn't book again.
