Guests say

Bugle Lodge is praised for its beautiful location, modern décor, and cleanliness, with several guests planning to return. While some found the beds uncomfortable, the peaceful setting and proximity to Saltburn-by-the-Sea are appreciated. Welcome touches, including treats for dogs, add to the positive experience, although the closed pub and misleading information about local amenities have been noted.

The lodge is consistently described as clean, with one review specifically noting it was 'sparkling clean'. There was a single mention of the oven and microwave needing a better clean, but overall, the high standard of cleanliness is evident.

The location is generally well-received for its beauty and tranquillity, but some guests were disappointed with the lack of footpaths to Saltburn and the misleading information about the proximity to the beach. The necessity of driving due to the location's road conditions has been highlighted.

Comfort received mixed reviews. While some guests were happy with the lodge, several mentioned the beds and pillows being uncomfortable. The presence of a peacock and woodland walks added to the comfort for some, but the lack of comfortable bedding was a notable drawback for others.

Facilities are generally good, with the lodge being well-equipped and recently refurbished. However, there were comments about the pub being closed and the grounds being overgrown. The lack of a smart TV and the need for a better clean in the kitchen area were also mentioned.

Guests appreciated the welcome touches, such as treats for dogs, which indicate thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts are subject to change and not guaranteed, they should be considered a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

Lovely location. Lots of wildlife. Lodge was clean, good quality appliances. Lovely complimentary basket of goodies. This was very much appreciated. Lovely wedding venue can be seen from the lodge. Lovely architecture to enjoy. There was a wedding each day we were here. Lots of people enjoying themselves. Low noise and no hassle to people staying in lodges. We did find a squashed spider on the utility room floor which had just been left there. The decking and railings were very much covered in cobwebs, dry leaves, sandy footprints and dry grass. We cleaned areas before we used them. There are some maintenance issues with the lodge. For example there are cracks in the bedroom wall in various places around plasterboards. Also some of the door frames could do with caulk putting over the cracks. These are minor issues and are from the materials drying and expanding etc. may bother some people though, so may be good to keep on top of. While we were there the gardeners cut the grass around the lodge as well as the main oval. Friendly people. They did a good job and left no mess.
