The hot tub is a popular feature, although there are mixed feelings about its maintenance. The location is appreciated for its quietness and proximity to towns, though some noted traffic noise. Comfort levels are high, with a well-equipped kitchen and cosy furnishings. However, there are concerns about maintenance, particularly with the gas oven.

Most guests found the lodge to be immaculate and well-maintained, with only one report of a dirty hot tub, which seems to be an isolated incident.

The lodge is appreciated for its quiet setting and accessibility to towns. However, some guests noted traffic noise, which detracted from the peaceful countryside experience.

The majority of guests found the lodge to be comfortable, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a warm atmosphere.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the hot tub and well-stocked kitchen. However, there are significant concerns about the safety and markings of the gas oven, and one mention of the hot tub not being ready on time.

Guests frequently mention and appreciate the thoughtful extras provided, such as jams, biscuits, and milk. While these gifts are warmly received, it should be noted that such extras are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

This delightful, dog-friendly holiday lodge benefits from a spacious and open-plan interior completed by three bedrooms, a decking with hot tub, and boasts a fantastic location close to Carlisle, Penrith and the fun-filled Lake District National Park; the perfect choice for small families and friends looking to explore all Cumbria has to offer. After a day full of exploration, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and unwind on the plush sofas in front of the Smart TV and gentle warmth of the electric fire. Watch on from the comfort of the sofas as the designated chef of the group cooks up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen; sample the fruits of their labour at the dining table before heading outside to appreciate the beauty of the countryside from the bubbling hot tub. Watch as the stars fill the sky overhead before heading inside to freshen up in the shower room ready to slope off to sleep in either the double with en-suite or the two twin rooms. If you can tear yourself away from this dwelling venture into the nearby village of Armathwaite where you can stock up on all your self-catering essentials at the local store or enjoy a well-earned break from the kitchen with food at The Dukes Head Inn or Fox Pheasant Inn. The historic city of Carlisle is easily accessible by car and houses the breath-taking 12th-century Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral and the fascinating Museum of Military Life, there is also an array of bars and pubs for those seeking vivid nightlife. Venture into the Lake District National Park for a whole host of walking and hiking trails around stunning lakes like Ullswater, Haweswater and Derwent Water and up peaks like Skiddaw, Carrock Fell and Helvellyn which all offer spectacular views across Cumbria. All this and more awaits at 36.

Armathwaite is a charming, unspoiled rural community that is conveniently located between the Lake District, Eden Valley, and the stunning Solway Firth shoreline. There is a post office and a quaint little store, as well as two historic pubs with outstanding eateries. The River Eden flows right through the middle of town, and the area is well-known for its fantastic salmon fishing, in addition to its many other outdoor pursuits. Down by the water, in Armathwaite, is a 15th-century church with beautiful stained glass windows and a Pele tower with four stories. If you find yourself in Cumbria, you should definitely check out the Eden Gorge, which is located between Lazonby and Armathwaite. The Settle-to-Carlisle Railway, which stops at the nearby train station, is widely regarded as one of the most picturesque routes in all of Britain. The railway passes through some of the country's most picturesque scenery and is still used by many vintage steam trains. Penrith is home to the "biggest grass covered building in the country," the Rheged Exploration Centre, and the Dalemain Historic House was included in a TV adaptation of Jane Eyre.
