The lodge received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests found it to be clean and well-kept, while others reported issues with cleanliness in the kitchen and a lack of maintenance in the hot tub, leading to a slightly above average score.

Location

Unfortunately we’ve been unable assess this category comprehensively enough based on the reviews we’ve received from guests about this property.

Comfort

The majority of guests found the lodge comfortable, with a relaxing atmosphere and tasteful decoration. Comfort was a strong point, although one review mentioned a broken bed which was replaced during their stay.

Facilities

Facilities were generally appreciated, especially the hot tub. However, there were reports of broken appliances and a lack of instructions for using the facilities, which suggests room for improvement in maintenance.

Thoughtfulness

The owners demonstrated thoughtfulness by responding to queries, replacing a broken bed, and providing a travel cot. However, as gifts are not consistently mentioned, it should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

About this property

A and C Lodge-Plot 21 is a lovely holiday lodge resting in Hesket Caravan Park just outside the Lake District National Park. With a smart interior where sophistication meets attractive home design, this property will have you and your loved ones feeling like you've truly entered your own home rather than a holiday retreat. As you turn the key and enter your new home away from home, you will be warmly welcomed by the smart open-plan living, kitchen and dining area with a stylish decor. For the chef, there is a well-equipped kitchen with all the tools one would need to whip up a home cooked meal worthy of the name, for those who want to put their feet up, the spacious sofa invites you to do so with your favourite shows on the Smart TV and for when you all gather round the dining table, there is plenty of room for the four of you to enjoy some friendly conversation as well as a crisp glass of white. The summer months will implore you to take advantage of the hot sun in your own private decking area, strategically placed to make the most of the sunshine, as well as enjoy a wind down in the hot tub. Once your day is done the gentle, inviting bedrooms will see you to your rest before giving you ample space to get ready the next day in the en-suite shower or a soak in the tub. If you can pull yourselves away, there are pubs, museums, castles, shopping, walking and cycling routes all nearby with The Dukes Head Inn, Penrith and Eden Museum, The Lanes Shopping Centre and Quarry Banks Nature Reserve just to name a small handful. You are also a short distance away from the picturesque Lake District and the Windermere Lake which hosts Stagshaw Gardens, Rydal Cave and Surprise View for panoramic views of the lakes. For a remarkable stay in Cumbria, book your stay at A and C lodge- Plot 21.

The attractive, unspoilt rural village of Armathwaite is ideally placed for exploring the Lake District, Eden Valley and the lovely coastline of the Solway Firth. The village has two old pubs, both with popular restaurants serving excellent food, a village Post Office and a traditional village shop. The River Eden runs through the centre of the village, and the area is renowned for its excellent salmon fishing, plus walking, canoeing and climbing. Armathwaite Castle, by the river, is a four-storey Pele Tower, and the 15th-century church has fine examples of stained glass windows. The Eden Gorge, between Lazonby and Armathwaite, is one of Cumbria's best-kept secrets, and is well worth exploring. The local railway station is a stop on the Settle-to-Carlisle Railway, which is one of the most beautiful railway journeys in Britain, and where today many old steam trains still wend their way through some of the finest countryside in Britain. The Rheged Discovery Centre in Penrith is the "largest grass covered building in the country" or you might like to visit Dalemain Historic House, featured in a television production of Jane Eyre. The town is within reach of the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, providing guests with many mountain biking, hiking, and birdwatching opportunities.
