Guests say

Burlees Nest receives high praise for its cleanliness, modern amenities, and quiet location, ideal for exploring the Lake District. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property and the thoughtful touches, such as wine and milk, though these are not guaranteed. While most reviews are positive, a few mention discomfort with the seating and a lack of local areas for dog walking.

The majority of guests report the property as spotlessly clean and well-maintained. However, one review cites a significant cleanliness issue with dog hairs, which lowers the overall score.

The location is frequently described as quiet and ideal for exploring the north west lakes area, with easy access to local towns and attractions. The peaceful setting is a consistent positive point among guests.

Guests generally find the property comfortable, with a few noting the beds as comfy and the lodge cosy. However, some guests mention that the sofas and mattresses could be more comfortable, which affects the score.

Reviews highlight the property as well-equipped and modern, with good Wi-Fi and amenities. A few minor issues are noted, such as the lack of a potato masher and some difficulties with TV and electric fire instructions.

While several reviews mention the thoughtful gesture of wine and milk, it is not consistently referenced across all reviews, and as such, it cannot be guaranteed for future guests. Therefore, a score cannot be accurately provided.

I call that excellent service and would not hesitate to stay there again.

It was extremely well stocked with everyday items. I very much liked how the utensil draw was so very neatly placed. Knife rack was very handy on top of work surface. The kitchen was easy to navigate. Shower & toilet were very clean & how I like it home from home. There are leaflets to look through for takeaway & places of interest. Books to read & dvds to watch. I thought a nice homely touch. The main bedroom was well organised as in storage. There are even usb plugs fitted in sockets! Our only issues were the settees are uncomfortable. Just when you want to wind down in the evening we found them so hard & the decking was very slippy. Other than that great!

Only down side there’s nowhere for children to play, ie play area and nearest shop is 2.2 miles away(cockermouth).
