Guests say

Silverdale Mount is a well-regarded holiday cottage in Grange-Over-Sands, praised for its stunning views, spaciousness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, the garden, and the property's peaceful location. While some guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the responsive service and overall experience have been positively received.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Several guests found it spotless and well-presented, while others reported issues with cobwebs, pet hair, and a lack of thorough cleaning in some areas. The majority of comments, however, lean towards a clean and welcoming environment.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, stunning views of Morecambe Bay, and proximity to local amenities and the Lake District. The steep hill to the property is noted, but it contributes to the spectacular views and is seen as a positive by most guests.

Guests generally find the property comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds and a homely feel. Some guests noted issues with seating and heating, but these are relatively few compared to the overall positive feedback on the property's comfort.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample towels. Some guests experienced maintenance issues like boiler problems and wasps nests, but these were resolved promptly. The lack of Wi-Fi and some dated aspects were noted, but did not significantly detract from the overall experience.

While the reviews reflect a responsive service and some guests mentioned the provision of fans during a wasp issue, there is insufficient information on consistent thoughtful gestures such as welcome packs or gifts to accurately score this category.

The shower room extractor, the toaster not working, bushes need a massive trim, scratching the car, a lot of crockery was chipped, the oven door fell off on opening, just needs a general tidy up

We had a wonderful time. A very clean, comfortable and well equipped house with tremendous views of Morecambe Bay from many of the windows. We also had very good weather so were able to sit in the private and sheltered garden. The only problem (though not a problem really) was that going into the drive through a quite narrow space created by the gateposts. There really is nothing the owners can do about this but you do have to be very careful taking a car in and out of the drive. We both backed in so that it was easier to go out. That is in no way a criticism because everything about the house ticks all the boxes. Shops are to hand including some eateries and there's a lovely walk along the promenade. Nearby Holker Hall Gardens are superb especially for someone who likes trees. It's also easy to get into The Lakes proper with the nearest attractions, the Sea Life Centre and the ferryboat up Windermere. The furthest we went was west to Muncaster Castle and that was a splendid visit especially as our grandson was taught how to use a sword, joust, use a bow and arrow. A young boy will be in his element there. But it is a longer drive. For the adults a visit to Lake Coniston and to John Ruskin's house was inspirational. Better stop there but you can see just what an excellent position Silverdale Mount is in.

The garden was big and good for our dog but some of the bushes next to the side/front path and next to seating area overlapped a bit. As I have slightly reduced mobility it made it more difficult to walk round to keep an eye on him. The grass was cut during our stay. This fact did not detract too much from our enjoyment.
