Guests say

The Gatehouse in Kendal is highly praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and well-appointed facilities. Guests appreciate the property's quiet location, surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet conveniently close to Kendal and Windermere. The cottage is described as ideal for family gatherings, with comfortable bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. A welcome hamper adds a thoughtful touch, and the presence of deer nearby delights visitors.

Guests consistently commend the property for its spotless presentation and excellent cleaning standards, contributing to a comfortable and inviting stay.

The property's location is appreciated for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions, with easy access to the M6, Kendal, Windermere, and scenic walks, making it an ideal base for exploring the South Lakes.

The Gatehouse receives high marks for comfort, with guests finding the living spaces cozy and the bedrooms spacious. However, a minor note on the temperature control in the bedrooms suggests room for improvement.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and en-suite bathrooms. However, the score reflects concerns about a lack of certain kitchen items, rubbish space, and a leak in the bathroom radiator.

The welcome hamper is a delightful touch mentioned by guests, indicating the owner's thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, this score reflects the positive sentiment without setting an expectation.

Well situated and fabulous views. Rooms were comfortable but a bit basic. A chair and a mirror in bedrooms would be useful. We would definitely return.

Lovely property in a beautiful location. Kitchen was well equipped and although we didn't use it, the utility would be great for longer stays. The communication from the owner was fantastic! Always a reply within a short time of initial contact. The bedrooms were lovely, especially the 2 larger en-suite rooms. The bathroom was very spacious with a large walk in shower and a lovely deep bath. Smart tv, WiFi and plenty of board games provided.
