Linden Lea is a well-received cottage in Cumbria, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches like a welcome tray. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, with local amenities within walking distance. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, cosy living spaces, and secure garden for pets. Some minor maintenance issues are noted, but overall, the cottage offers a pleasant stay.
The majority of guests report the cottage as immaculately clean, with high standards of cleanliness upon arrival. However, there was an isolated incident of the property not being cleaned before check-in, which seems to be an exception.
The cottage is well-located for accessing the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, with local shops and pubs nearby. Some guests felt the village itself was not a holiday destination, but the convenience for exploring surrounding areas is highly valued.
Guests find the cottage cosy and comfortable, with special mentions of a super comfy bed and a cosy living room. The secure garden adds to the comfort for those with pets. A few guests mentioned low lamp shades and a sharp shed corner as minor discomforts.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good central heating. Some guests noted minor issues such as a tricky WiFi cable, a non-functional Wii, and a need for clearer recycling instructions. Maintenance issues like mould and a log burner problem were also mentioned.
While many guests mention receiving a selection of treats and a welcome tray, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, it is not possible to accurately score this category. The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident, but the variability of gifts means a score cannot be provided.

The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing week and our dogs enjoyed the garden. The neighbours were very friendly and we had no problem parking on the main street.

Although small everything just seemed to âwork â Must remark on exceptionally comfortable bed, never slept as well whilst away! Parked very easily directly in front and the neighbours were charming. Great walks and tons of places to visit nearby. Enjoyed the castle and church just ten minutes walk away. And a waterfall just across the road. All round a great visit,
Madeleine
Thank you. The only thing I would say, is that the pubs have closed down and there is only a hotel bar or a small coffee shop/bar and neither of them are dog friendly which can be very important for people on holiday with their dog.
