This traditional cottage is set in the quaint town of Brough in Cumbria, near to the market town of Kirkby Stephen. This cosy dwelling offers a charming retreat for couples, families and friends throughout the year. The sitting room is home to two sofas and a woodburning stove, ideal for a snug night in. Within a short stroll is a pub, hotel with bar and restaurants, shop, chip shop and a tea room, offering plenty of eating choices. Brough is a small town resting in the Eden Valley, at the foot of the North Pennines, a few miles north of Kirkby Stephen. The town offers a couple of pubs, restaurants, a café and a shop. It is surrounded by traditional farm meadows and picturesque pastures and fells, making a scenic base for your escape to Yorkshire.

It was also the first cottage of many we have stayed in without a welcome hamper, so it was lucky there was a local shop near by, but was frustrating after a long journey in the car with two small children to then have the need to go to a shop. There was no parking near by, in-fact we were rudely told to move our car by one of the residents on arrival, and had to park 200 yards also on a busy road. There was limited stuff to do in the area and we had to travel a lot. There was one pub available although more of a hotel than a pub and prices reflected that. The shower had very little water pressure. Couldnât cook on the hob as the smoke alarm kept going off. The TV is very small a seemed damaged, which was stated in the guest book some time ago. I would say itâs more of a couples cottage than a family, especially if your children are young.

Weather wasn't great but we still enjoyed the surrounding,also the castle and local pub.

Everything was excellent, you might need a new tv, was marks all over try wiping the tv down but the marks was still on tv
