Guests say

Yealand 36 is a well-received lodge in Carnforth, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and excellent hot tub. The location is appreciated for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions. Guests have enjoyed the lodge's amenities and the thoughtful touches by the owner, though some have noted maintenance issues.

The lodge generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with several guests finding it clean and tidy. However, there are concerns about pet hair, stained furnishings, and a few instances of poor cleanliness, which slightly lower the score.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, beautiful surroundings, and convenience for exploring the Lake District. The proximity to local amenities and attractions contributes to a high score.

Guests find the lodge comfortable, with a spacious living area and well-equipped kitchen. Some guests mention issues with mattresses and seating, which affects the comfort score.

Facilities like the hot tub are a highlight, but recurring issues with maintenance, such as broken appliances and toilet seats, impact the score. The lodge offers good service and amenities, but attention to repairs is needed.

The owner's responsiveness and gestures like leaving chocolates and fizz are well-received, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every guest, the score reflects the overall positive but not consistent experience.

Just a shame that recent reviews showing current problems hadn't been acknowledged ie lights not working in twin bedroom, all external doors need some alterations to close easier. The main fridge freezer needs replacing as the fridge doesn't keep to temperature and the freezer compartments are broken. Presumably why there is a spare fridge freezer in the kitchen. These little repairs could make a big difference to future bookings

Hot tub was hot. Shower was hot. The bad part. The glass panels on the decking rattle due to missing gaskets good luck with sleeping/ watching tv. Both bathroom fans don’t work Toilet not fixed to the floor. Rotten skirting board due to shower leaking The small bedroom the lights don’t work The master wardrobe is of no use as it’s full of baby stuff E.g high chair / cot and cushions for the outside . There’s a random mattress behind the settee’oh and a 2nd fridge freezer in the kitchen as well as a built in one . There’s 3 entry doors all with issues first one the top hinge is faulty and it has a broken retaining clip. So you are likely to get smacked with a glass door . Plus the gap at the top of the door lets in plenty of ventilation when it’s shut . The final straw was the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve had the miss fortune to pay for to try and sleep in . Then the corner settee hardly classed as fit to sit on as the outside chairs where much comfier. I’m sure that scenario is the other way round normally. Most of the above is lack of investment in maintenance and cleaning. Ended up cutting our stay short due to not being able to sleep or sit comfy and relax.

When we arrived the smell of Drains inside the caravan/lodge was really bad , I cleared the trap drain in the shower and it was full of hair and nasty stuff but it still smelt really bad every day whilst we was there , the hot tub had not been cleaned and had dirt floating around in it and did not smell of bleach or any kind of cleaning products which they always do in the past and it was not cleaned or treated in the whole week we was there , outside needs to be cleaned the glass and windows were fairly dirty and have green mold on the panels outside , tv signal kept cutting out so could not use the telly much the only essential in the property was towels and one toilet roll and hand wash so you would need to bring any essentials you need with you few minor repairs needed doing also , faulty blind in the bedroom and a door handle that kept falling off both toilets are not fixed to the ground properly therefore the smell leaks out of the soil pipe inside the property and the toilet seats were not sitting on the toilet correctly leaving your bum to contact with the inside of the toilet which is disgusting , the kettle was full of chunks of limescale,I will definetely not be staying there ever again , sofa had stains on it and was pretty old and dated , hardy any coat hangers , main front door was pretty stiff to close and right next to the site looked like a dumping ground full of builders rubbish , the hot tub had shelter and curtains which had zips but every single one was broken , half chipped drinking gkass in the cudboard the only good thing was the bedsheets were clean and hot water
