The village, civil parish, and electoral ward of Chatburn, which is located in East Lancashire's Ribble Valley, make an ideal touring base for visiting both Pendle Hill's marvel and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Bombed during the Second World War, it now offers travellers the ideal location to pick up any necessities while being surrounded by history. If you go down the River Ribble, you'll discover two pubs, a Chinese takeout, an ice cream shop, and a convenience store in the hamlet, where you can get ingredients for whatever cooking you want to do at home. Visit Pendle Hill, which is known for its connections to the 1612 witch trials. From here, you may walk along the 43-mile Pendle Way to learn more about this picturesque location, or you can connect to some of the Bronte Way to learn more. For those who are feeling more daring, there are also activities available, including the chance to go gliding and fishing for trout and salmon on the Ribble, Lune, and Hodder rivers. Spend the day in Burnley for wonderful shopping opportunities and enjoyable parks to explore, or travel to Skipton to view its impressive castle and play a round of golf. We often eye up small cottages that have a modern feel, quiet sites and beautiful views, and this location was just the option we needed. We took full advantage of the hot tub facilities in the good weather, despite there being no covering over the hot tub, it was a beautiful view looking over the fields and the animals past the farm. The amenities and welcome hamper were so well thought out, and most items of household goods in the kitchen/living space were available, especially if you have booked a longer stay. We visited lots of the local pubs, especially the local, The Spread Eagle for a few meals. They were very welcoming, had a great variety of theme nights, good food/drink and dog friendly! If you are looking for somewhere to go for nice walks within a 30 minute drive, Bolton Abbey Ruins and Malham Cove (for any of you Harry Potter fans) were well worth the tough walks - make sure to bring walking boots! We would definitely look to come back to this location again, and thank the hosts for an amazing stay. Thank you!

Small observations, a light above the dressing room area in the main bedroom and a full length mirror somewhere would be beneficial, possible location back of a wardrobe door. Also internet was very hit and miss and was a bit frustrating. Main bedroom toilet ran constantly sometimes.

The only thing I would say is the the hot tub could do with a gazebo maybe for bad weather and for a little privacy from the caravaners going past and the kitchen needs a practical bin but we did have a lovely peaceful stay
