Guests say

Marine House is highly praised for its immaculate cleanliness, comfortable beds, and prime location close to attractions. The spacious property, suitable for large groups, offers a well-equipped kitchen and a hot tub, although there are some minor issues with the hot tub temperature and living room sofas. The host, Julie, is commended for excellent communication and service.

Reviewers unanimously commend the property for its spotless condition, with crisp white bedding and clean towels in every room, contributing to a very high cleanliness rating.

The property's location is celebrated for being within walking distance to Lord Street, attractions, and the beach, making it an ideal spot for visitors.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the property spacious, though some feedback suggests the living room sofas could be more comfortable.

The property is well-equipped with a range oven and strong WiFi, but some guests experienced issues with the hot tub temperature and inconsistent shower temperatures.

While guests appreciate the host's excellent service, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness, hence the score cannot be determined.

Southport, along with its neighbour Ainsdale, lies on the coastline where the Irish Sea meets North West England. The town was founded in 1792 when an innkeeper, William Sutton, built a bathing house at what is now the south end of Lord Street, the main road running through the town. The town was small and not very widely populated until the turn of 19th century, when it became popular with tourists due to the easy access it provided to Leeds and Liverpool Canal. It quickly expanded and now boasts the second longest pleasure pier in the British Isles, the Southport Pier Tramway and Lord Street, an elegant, tree-lined shopping destination. From Birkdale to Woodvale, sand dunes stretch along the coastline and in Ainsdale in particular, the dunes have now been listed as a National Nature Reserve and a designated Ramsar site. The coastline stretches for 22 miles, with plenty of beaches to be discovered, making this classic seaside resort the perfect place to relax and unwind. There are scenic parks and gardens to explore, fabulous shopping opportunities, an exciting nightlife, as well as a mouth-watering array of restaurants and traditional seaside amusements. Stroll down the UK’s oldest iron pier and try the old penny slot machines in the Pavilion, or ride traditional carousels at Silcock’s Funland. Family attractions include Splash World, Martin Mere and Farmer Ted’s, while The Atkinson, an £18 million arts venue, is set in a Grade II listed building hosting a variety of visual and performing arts events. Southport’s extensive events programme includes the World Musical Fireworks Championships, the Southport Food and Drink Festival, Southport Air Show, Southport Flower Show and the Southport Jazz Festival. It is part of England’s Golf Coast and is home to seven championship courses, including Royal Birkdale, which hosted The Open Championship in 2008. In a great spot for a beach break, there really is something for everyone!

House very clean and warm. Was just what we needed. Fantastic hot tub which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Plenty of space, clean, comfortable beds, and great location. We had fantastic communication from booking to leaving. And had a query on the central heating resolved promptly. Overall a great place for large groups and really recommend. Only a couple if items for feedback 1. The temp of the hot tub declined each day with no instructions to bring back to temp. We did cover when not in use. Day 2 afternoon was then unusable 2. No recycling bins. There is just 1 general waste large wheelie bin out the front. The house guide referenced recycling but in the bin section only detailed the bins at front 3. Showers went hot and cold when in use. 4. Sofas in living room not very comfortable. Understand they are sofa beds but not great to sit on for any period of time.

The house was perfect. Immaculately clean, well equipped with everything you could imagine. Beds were so comfortable and rooms had en suites. Great dining room. Hot tub was a wonderful addition, perfectly clean and warm. Great location, not far from the attractions of Southport, crazy golf and lovely restaurants. Great communication from the owner, with clear manual at the entrance. We had a perfect stay and would highly recommend. Thank you so much. ❤️
