Akeld Cottage receives high praise for its peaceful location, stunning views, and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the secure garden, particularly dog owners, and the property's proximity to walking trails and local attractions. The welcome pack and responsive owners add to the positive experience, although some minor issues with decor and maintenance are noted.
The cottage is generally described as clean and well-presented. However, a few comments about a yellowing shower curtain and the need for some kitchen updates slightly affect the score.
The location is highly praised for its tranquility, beautiful views, and accessibility to walking paths and local sights. The secure garden and proximity to the town of Wooler are frequently mentioned as positives.
The cottage is often described as cosy and comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and comfortable beds. Some guests mention issues with a mattress and a sofa, which suggests room for improvement in this area.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable rooms. However, comments about pots and pans having seen better days, and some outdoor maintenance issues, indicate that some facilities could benefit from updating or better maintenance.
While guests frequently mention a welcome pack and the owners' responsiveness, there is not enough information to determine if these gestures are consistent across all stays or if they are guaranteed. Therefore, the score is set to null.

The welcome pack was a lovely surprise. We had one problem with the central heating boiler but that was resolved very quickly by the owners but the boiler remained an ongoing problem and sometimes there was a very strong smell of heating oil. However, I would definitely recommend Akeld Cottage to anyone hoping for a peaceful break in glorious countryside

We had one small problem which we had to ring the owner about but was dealt with within 20 mins which was excellent, the cottage is very central to many places and some lovely walks, we would return if we came back to the area
Ingrid
The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and more, and the sofas and beds, pillows etc are very comfortable. We had a wonderful week and the weather was glorious, note: don't close the sitting room curtains as you will miss the amazing sunsets! We must return again.
