This beautiful Peak District holiday home has everything you could wish for in a self-catering stay. It's beautifully furnished with space for eight people to sleep in four well-appointed bedrooms, with a stylish open-plan living area and beautiful rural views. Half an acre of secure and private gardens includes bike storage, a patio for barbecues, and a wood-fired Scandinavian sauna, plus dog bathing and grooming facilities and off-street parking for four cars. High Ridge Barn is in Swythamley on the western side of the Peak District National Park. It's exceptionally dog-friendly with fantastic walks from the door and is only a few miles from Macclesfield and Buxton.

Please note before enquiring that the ground floor of High Ridge Barn is not completely level, and there are two steps between the entrance and the living area, and between the ground floor bedrooms and the bathrooms which may make it unsuitable for those with mobility impairments.

High Ridge Barn dates from the 1600s and has been brought firmly into the 21st century with a sympathetic architect-designed renovation to provide very comfortable accommodation for eight people in four bedrooms. It's ideal for families, including those with dogs, yet also relaxing for a group of adult friends who appreciate its convenience, sensational Peak District views and fantastic restaurants. Being in Swythamley near Macclesfield makes High Ridge Barn perfect if you want a leisurely self-catering holiday home for a soul-nourishing stay full of walking, cycling and unforgettable panoramas. Swythamley is a small but perfectly formed hamlet in the western part of the Peak District, close to the River Dane and the Staffordshire/Cheshire border. The region is full of fantastic sights that lure walkers from around the country. The Hanging Stone is around two miles from the cottage, with other local landmarks including The Roaches, Lud's Church, Three Shires Head, and Shutlingsloe. Macclesfield Forest, a former royal hunting ground, is seven miles north, while Solomon's Temple, Poole's Cavern, and Buxton County Park are only a few miles further. There is no need to worry about returning to the house with dogs muddy after their walk, as you have a dog grooming cabin to get them fresh and fluffy again.

You don't have to be a walker or a mountain biker to appreciate a self-catering holiday in the Peak District. Attractions like Chatsworth House, Rudyard Lake, the Monsal Trail, Go Ape, Alton Towers, Biddulph Grange, Lyme Park, and the Madrenaline outdoor activity centre cover virtually every interest. Treat yourself to a spa day in Buxton, wander around Bakewell's narrow lanes before treating yourself to a slice of cake and a stroll beside the river. Manchester is only 30 miles away for a day of city shopping and sightseeing.

Accommodation Comprises:

High Ridge Barn is a spacious holiday home with lots of room for socialising. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

Large entrance hall with room to shuck off walking boots and coats. There's a selection of wellies and outdoor shoes for use during your stay.

Huge living room with hardwood floors, a double-height ceiling, exposed beams, a log burning stove, and rural views across Swythamley Hall towards Croker Hill. It's beautifully furnished with giant velvet sofas where you can flop and watch the 43-inch Smart TV with Freesat channels and a DVD player. Alternatively, stream your choice of music through the Bluetooth speaker.

Flowing on from the living room, the kitchen/diner has an impressive array of features and appliances that include an efficient Neff oven with an induction hob, a big fridge/freezer, dishwasher, an 18-bottle wine fridge, and a washer/dryer. Fitted cupboards are stocked with plates, glasses, pots, pans, and a comprehensive range of equipment and utensils for your self-catering stay. A hamper jam-packed with local food, including fresh eggs from the owner's hens, adds to the warm welcome.

Two superking/twin bedrooms depending on your preference. Beds are made up for your arrival using hotel-quality bed linen.

Family bathroom featuring a stylish wet-room shower area and a deep freestanding bath. There's also a WC and a handbasin. Bathrobes and slippers are provided, and all bathrooms include organic toiletries.

Upstairs:

Large bedroom with a king-sized bed, proper storage, and an armchair with a footstool where you can relax with a good book. This room has space for a travel cot which can be provided if you need it.

Second double bedroom with a king-sized bed and ample storage. It benefits from an ensuite with a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The exterior of High Ridge Barn is as carefully planned as the interiors. Half an acre of grounds includes a lawn and paddock for playing outdoor games and football. There's seating for eight people on the terrace and two charcoal barbecues. Separate sheds provide secure bike storage and professional-standard dog grooming facilities, and there's off-street parking for four cars. The house has a sauna that can be used for an extra cost.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen (including cot bedding) and bath towels are included. An initial supply of wood, kindling and charcoal for the log burner and barbecues is also provided. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking is not permitted.
