A magnificent, Grade II listed, semi-detached farmhouse, located in the pretty village of Parwich, just a few minutes' walk from the village's traditional pub and only 7 miles from Ashbourne. Full of character and charm, the cottage boasts many original features such as old beams, fireplaces, mullioned windows and shutters, and offers a lovely sitting room with woodburning stove and cosy snug with open fire, along with a spacious garden in which to relax and unwind. The lovely old village of Parwich is surrounded by beautiful countryside and dates back to the Saxon times, although there is evidence of a Roman farm at Roystone Grange nearby. Parwich has a village green, public house and a church as well as a post office with a general store. Cyclists and walkers will be well occupied with the lovely walks and paths in the area, one of them being the Manifold Trail which follows the Leek to Manifold light railway. There are many pretty villages within easy reach. Ilam, Alstonefield and Brassington all have an interesting past waiting to be discovered. With so much to offer in the way of sightseeing and outdoor activities, this peaceful area makes a great holiday base for all ages.

We had the most wonderful week, the cottage is a glorious mix of modern convenience and fabulous old beams. We felt very welcome and very at home, 3 generations in a shared space with everything we needed to hand. The only issue really was that the stairs are both deep and steep which, had there been a warning in the listing, might possibly have put us off from booking the property as two of our party have limited mobility. We're glad we did and had an awesome week!

Parwich is a very picturesque village with lots of trails and a very good pub. It is also near to many other towns, villages and places of interest. We particularly liked Wirksworth Church and Carsington Water. Orchard View is a spacious and well appointed property that provided us with all that we needed. It was part of my recuperation after a recent operation and allowed us to unwind and relax after a stressful period for us both. It also enabled our Son and Daughter-in-law with their 2 dogs to join us for a couple of days, making it special and complete. The owner was very pleasant and helpful, and we felt very welcome. Thoroughly recommend!

The property was very homely and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you need to make meals. The rooms are very spacious and we didn't cramped. Choice of bedrooms is very good for 7 adults. I would definitely recommend this property.
