The Studio in Ashbourne offers a cosy and charming stay, with guests praising the friendly hosts, the property's cleanliness, and the beautiful, peaceful village location. The cottage is well-equipped, and the local pub is noted for its lovely food. The garden adds to the appeal, and the property is well-situated for walking and exploring the Peak District. While some guests mentioned minor issues, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many looking forward to returning.
Guests consistently report that The Studio is well-maintained and spotless, with no smells of pets or smoke, indicating high standards of cleanliness. One isolated comment about half-eaten food in a cup seems to be an exception rather than the rule.
The property is highly regarded for its location in a quiet, friendly village with good access to local walks and pubs. Its proximity to the Peak District makes it an ideal base for exploring the area.
The majority of guests find The Studio comfortable, with a cosy log burner and comfortable bed. However, a few guests noted the bathroom was cramped and the heating could be improved, slightly lowering the score.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and garden. Some guests suggested improvements such as a casting device for the TV and a more user-friendly cooker. The mention of a non-working clothes dryer indicates some room for maintenance.
While guests appreciate the warm welcome and friendly interactions with the hosts, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches that are consistent across reviews. Therefore, a score cannot be provided for this category.
This beautiful, stone-built, little detached cottage is next to the owners own home, in the heart of the traditional Derbyshire village of Parwich. The cottage is perfect for couples seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, or keen to pull on their walking boots and discover the beauty of this marvellous region. You enter the cottage immediately into the open plan living space, which has a vaulted ceiling, beams, a woodburning stove and is overlooked by the mezzanine bedroom. This gorgeous little cottage just oozes style; the sitting room has parquet flooring and leads to the well-equipped kitchen and dining area, which in turn leads to the shower room. Upstairs, the mezzanine bedroom is a delight, with more exposed character beams, a king-size double bed and lovely views over the vegetable patch and to the village beyond. Outside is a lovely walled garden, completely private with furniture making it the perfect spot for an evening drink or a cup of tea in the morning sunshine! The Sycamore Inn is a short stroll up the road, a traditional, friendly country pub serving food that also doubles as the village shop! Situated in the south of the Peak District National Park, the property is a short distance from the Dovedale National Nature Reserve and Carsington Water, making it a great base for walking. For cyclists, the Manifold Trail is a great way to explore the countryside, while a little further afield, Chatsworth House is easy to find in the car. With the delights of the Derbyshire Dales within easy reach, The Studio in Parwich is the perfect romantic bolt hole for couples exploring this charming area, all year round.
Surrounded by lush green countryside, Parwich is a charming village which dates back to Saxon times. It has a picturesque old church, village green, a country pub and a village hall. The area is a delight for cyclists and walkers, with the nearby Manifold Trail, a tarmac path that follows the old Leek to Manifold light railway, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the countryside. The route has been open since the 1930s, when the railway closed, and was probably the first disused railway to be utilised in this way. Nearby are the lovely villages of Alstonefield, Ilam and Brassington, and activities such as golf, horse riding and sailing are all within a seven mile radius. Chatsworth House and Carsington Waters are also close by, making Parwich a great base for a family holiday.

Very comfortable. Close to good pub. Pity you could not arrange for weather to be better...lol.still we were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Only real gripe is the cooker/hob. We stayed a week and still had not mastered it and I'm sure a couple of the rings are not working properly but I could be wrong. Many thanks again David

The cottage and grounds were wonderful, very well kept with lovely friendly owners. The village itself was beautiful with local pub serving amazing food and walks on your doorstep.

The garden is a lovely place to sit in the sun, so peaceful. Parwich is a quiet friendly village and we had a nice meal at the local pub. Plenty of walks from the village. Highly recommend.
