The Hunting Tower stands 400 feet above Chatsworth House on the edge of Stand Wood, boasting stunning views across the Chatsworth Estate. This fascinating building was completed in the 1500s for Bess of Hardwick, ancestress of the Duke of Devonshire.
The sixteenth century hunting tower was originally used to watch over the hounds working when hunting in the park below. After extensive repairs to the fabric of the building, it now offers visitors of Chatsworth the opportunity to stay in a unique property in the heart of this beautiful estate.
Walking into the property, you are welcomed into the bright and airy kitchen and dining room. the kitchen is well-equipped with all the essentials and boasts an electric Aga.
Make your way up the narrow, spiral staircase into the cosy sitting room with comfortable seating for all guests, a television and an electric fire; the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the Estate.
The Hunting Tower provides two bedrooms; bedroom one on the second floor enjoys a 5’ king-size four poster bed with an en-suite shower room and a separate wash basin and WC; bedroom two sits on the lower ground floor with twin single beds and its own en-suite shower room.
Whilst staying at the Hunting Tower you also have access to Chatsworth Health Club facilities which are available to book in advance and includes use of the gym, pool and tennis court.
Guests can pre-book a slot for the Chatsworth Health Club, where facilities include use of the gym, swimming pool and tennis court (additional charges apply).
