The Old Stables in Matlock is praised for its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and lovely views. Its location is ideal for exploring local attractions, though the steep hill and parking can be challenging. Comfort is noted with cosy bedrooms, but some guests found the beds hard and lounge furniture uncomfortable. Facilities are generally good, but some maintenance issues like heating controls and oven functionality were mentioned. No gifts are referenced, so thoughtfulness cannot be assessed.
Guests consistently report high levels of cleanliness throughout the property, with particular praise for the kitchen and bathroom. However, one review mentioned a need for better cleaning in the bathroom and a disgusting shower trap, slightly lowering the score.
The property's location is appreciated for its proximity to Matlock and local attractions. However, concerns about parking and the challenge of a steep hill access slightly detract from the overall positive feedback.
The property offers comfortable bedrooms with lovely views and a warm welcome. However, some guests found the beds too hard and the lounge furniture not comfortable, which affects the comfort score.
Facilities like the kitchen and views are highly regarded, but several maintenance issues such as heating control, a tricky oven, and Wi-Fi connectivity have been pointed out, indicating room for improvement.
There is no mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness of the host.

It will no longer be available as now on the rental market. There was some discrepancy between the description and the reality in all areas. There was no enclosed lawned garden, it was an enclosed patio area, not dog friendly. The parking was tricky any car over a Ford focus size would find it hard to park. The neighbours whilst friendly did not make parking any easier by leaving cars and objects in areas that would have helped. The house access was in a narrow lane and hard to find. There was no welcome pack/instructions. The lounge furniture was not comfortable, the best bit was the kitchen. The boiler made an unusual noise when it was working, we were worried it would fail. The bathroom needed a good clean and paintwork was patchy in areas. The shower trap was DISGUSTING, it not been cleaned for a long time. The sink plug did not work and was not clean, cobwebs between cabinet and wall. We struggled and did not find a switch for the light in the entrance hall, to find that you had to tighten the light bulb to get it to work, and loosen it to turn it off, not helpful if under 6â! The recycling instructions were confusing.

Lounge ok but not finished decoration. Bedrooms ok but poor storage and beds are rock hard. Bathroom ok, but the door did not close properly which is not ideal to say the least. Wifi very poor (I think it's a booster from next door) and had to sit in porch area to get any kind of connection.
