Jaret House in Tideswell is highly praised for its excellent location, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the ensuite bathrooms and the property's suitability for exploring the Peak District. The village's friendly atmosphere and local amenities add to the positive experience, although a few guests noted areas for improvement.
Most guests found Jaret House clean and comfortable. However, a couple of reviews mentioned dust and a need for a deep clean, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
The location is consistently lauded for its convenience to local shops, pubs, and scenic walks, making it an ideal base for exploring the Peak District.
Guests frequently compliment the comfortable beds and the cosy atmosphere of the house. The presence of ensuite bathrooms for each room adds to the comfort level, although there were minor concerns about the size of the shower rooms and noise from the road.
The property is well-equipped, with a kitchen that satisfies guests' needs and ample space. The mention of a log fire and board games indicates good facilities, but the absence of a downstairs toilet and a music system were noted.

A wonderful holiday retreat, with four en-suite bedrooms, in a wonderful village!
Jaret House is truly a magnificent little treasure of a cottage, set along a beautiful wide village street adorned with hanging baskets and pots full of flowers. A sizable, yet cosy lounge welcomes you as you step inside this stunningly decorated holiday retreat. Snuggle up in the evening by the crackling open fire with loved ones, or enjoy some good food and drink around the dinner table. In the morning, sit on the sweet little terrace with your morning brew watching the world go by as you plan your days out.
The beautiful village of Tideswell is home to Jaret House, where you’ll find you’ll be spoilt for choice of where to visit first. Will it be the remarkable church of St John the Baptist, also known as the ‘Cathedral of the Peak’, or a visit to Tideswell Dale to have a picnic and explore the delightful sculpture trail? Maybe you’ll be around for the Tideswell Food Festival held every May, or perhaps you’d like to sample some local food and drink in one of the three village pubs nearby. If you’re wanting to see the rest of Derbyshire, you’re not far from the famous Buxton Opera House, Chatsworth House, Bakewell, or a visit to Blue-John Caverns in Castleton.
Return to base at Jaret House and allow yourself to drift off to sleep in the comfortable beds, refreshed and ready for the next day of adventure.
