Rose Cottage is absolutely superb. As a traditional Derbyshire Cottage in the midst of the lovely village of Youlgreave it is a brilliant base from which to explore the 'Peaks'. The lounge is charming with its log burning stove. The well fitted dining kitchen is great if you like cooking. The bedrooms are perhaps the best of all with their superb beds, crisp linen and fluffy towels.

Youlgreave is just as brilliant. It's a 'real' village with a lovely church, proper village stores and three great pubs all just a stagger away. They all do good food and one even sells 'take away' fish and chips. But don't indulge too much because a stroll down Bradford Dale, spotting the kingfishers and dippers in the river, and all the other incredible walks around the village, will beckon in the morning.

When you are not 'outward-bound' there are innumerable other things to do and see.  Wonderful Chatsworth House, lovely Haddon Hall and super Bakewell are only 5 minutes drive away. Or perhaps make it a day out cycling along the High Peak Trail, splashing about in Carsington Water, riding Peak Rail's steam trains, storming Peveril Castle or getting your nemesis on Nemesis at Alton Towers.

Cottage facilities:

A delightful lounge with Chesterfield sofa, comfy chairs, glowing log burning stove, T.V., DVD, CD, and WiFi.  A quality, well equipped dining kitchen with drop leaf table and chairs, hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and automatic washer/dryer. A very attractive double bedroom with beautiful furnishings including a brass bedstead. An equally nice twin bedroom. A bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is a lovely garden with furniture about 10 yds from the back door across the rear yard. Parking is available on the road outside the cottage and on the other quiet lanes in the village. One pet is allowed by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

Weekly bookings are normally Friday to Friday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas & New Year.
