Lose yourself in fantastic countryside views overlooking Wolfescote Dale from almost every window of this truly rural family-friendly retreat neighboured only by the rolling hills of the Peak District; find pure peace and tranquillity in nature.
Boasting far-reaching countryside views, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is bursting with charm; spectacular original beams echo the cottage’s rich history whilst the authentic country cottage-style decor immerses you into rural village life, inspiring you to get creative with your wonderful local produce before unwinding weary walking muscles. Sharing the same character as the rest of the ground floor, boasting rich mahogany ceiling beams and sumptuous, homely touches, the twin bedroom on this level provides a haven of serenity to retire to whilst the king-size bedroom on the mezzanine level offers wonderful views of the cottage’s beams and surrounding countryside. Completing the interior is a well-appointed family shower room. Outside, the walled patio is the perfect peaceful spot to lose yourself in pretty valley views as you dine alfresco with a glass of something chilled. You’ll also find a handy bike store and off-road parking for two cars outside.
This scenic spot in the heart of the Peak District is a walker’s paradise, with a myriad of trails to explore on foot or two wheels leading to Wolfscote Dale less than half a mile away beginning from the doorstep. Home to a fantastic selection of shops, cafes and pubs showcasing the best local produce this area has to offer, the picturesque village of Hartington 2 miles away is surrounded by some of the best walking country in the Peak District; venture south to explore Beresford Dale, Wovescote Dale and Dovedale or head north in the Upper Dove Valley to Pilsbury Castle (6.5 miles) and Crowdecote (7 miles).
