Occupying a rural location within the Peak District National Park, this sympathetically renovated farm building offers families and couples a relaxing stay. Immerse yourselves in the tranquillity of the Derbyshire countryside with long walks from your door and exciting adventures further afield. Its central location makes travelling around the national park easier, so you can discover the many gems it has on offer such as traffic-free cycling routes, show caves, stately homes and historic towns packed with independent shops and eateries.
Surrounded by rural scenery, this property’s reverse-level layout ensures you can make the most of the unbridled views. Situated on a working dairy farm, it’s a charming blend of neutral tones and traditional touches. The ground floor houses two cosy and inviting bedrooms bursting with rustic charm, and a contemporary shower room. On the first floor, vaulted ceilings create a sense of space and light, and the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner allows guests to spend quality time together, whilst still having room to spread out. There is a well-equipped kitchen, dining space for four and ample comfy seating for everyone. Outside, a small courtyard bordered by a stone wall is ideal for morning coffees or al fresco dining.
Intrepid explorers can walk or cycle the many routes that traverse the rugged and dramatic landscape of the Dark Peak to the north or the gentler limestone plateaus of the White Peak to the south. When you’re in need of a less strenuous day out, head to Buxton (6 miles) to admire its Georgian and Victorian architecture and sip on its famous spring water or to Bakewell (7.5 miles) for one of its famous puddings. Or perhaps you’d prefer to brush shoulders with the upper classes, in which case head to Chatsworth House (12 miles) or Haddon Hall (10.5 miles).
