Guests appreciate the cottage's cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful setting in the Peak District. The welcome pack and dog-friendly features are well-received, though some minor issues with facilities and maintenance are noted. The local pub and nearby attractions enhance the stay.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, contributing to a comfortable and welcoming stay. A single mention of inadequate washing up by a previous tenant slightly impacts the score.
The location is highly praised for its beauty, tranquillity, and proximity to local attractions and walks. The village pub is a highlight, and the rural setting is appreciated for its peace and quiet.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with a warm and cosy atmosphere. However, some guests noted issues with the mattress firmness and sofa comfort, which slightly lowers the score.
Facilities are well-regarded, especially the large TV and kitchen equipment. However, there are comments about the need for updates and maintenance in the kitchen and bathroom, as well as the need for additional heating and draft-proofing.
The welcome pack is frequently mentioned and appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness. However, the suitability of the items and the mention that gifts are not guaranteed suggest room for improvement in ensuring the welcome pack consistently meets guest expectations.

It was warm and cosy and clean and had everything you could want including a very good 'welcome pack' of milk, bread etc. Unfortunately the weather didn't mean I could see the sunset but I'm sure it would be lovely and the view itself was very good. I would recommend the cottage to anyone wishing to visit Chelmorton and surrounding area.
Susan
It was clean and cosy.A welcome pack when we arrived was a lovely surprise.Everything we needed was available in the cottage, including towels, bedding and tea towels . There is a fantastic pub in the village serving amazing food a very short walk from the cottage. Highly recommend this holiday home.
Terry
Everything you could need in the house, and with some beautiful walks closeby. We didnât have great weather, but it was still lovely and warm. The WiFi was very slow (4-6 Mbps), but then again it is a rural area. The play castle is very dilapidated, with Sherwood Forest growing inside it, and should be removed from the listing.
