Guests consistently praise Nuthatch Cottage for its cleanliness, comfortable amenities, and excellent location in Derbyshire. The property offers stunning views, easy access to local walks and pubs, and thoughtful touches from the hosts. It's well-equipped for a relaxing stay, with particular appreciation for the dog-friendly environment and outdoor seating areas.
Reviewers frequently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as 'sparkling clean' and 'very clean', indicating high standards of hygiene and upkeep.
The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, proximity to local walks, pubs, and villages, as well as being ideal for exploring the Peak District, contributing to a high score.
Comfort is a recurring theme, with guests finding the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. However, one mention of uncomfortable mattresses suggests a slight deduction from a perfect score.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and underfloor heating. However, a few comments about maintenance issues, such as flooring and shower temperature control, suggest room for improvement.
Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like welcome gifts, fresh eggs, and dog biscuits. While these gestures are warmly received, it's important to note that such extras, while delightful, are not guaranteed.
A classy cottage tucked away at the end of a quiet country lane in the very heart of the Peak District.
Aptly named due to the abundance of nuthatches and other birds that nest in the substantial gardens surrounding the property, Nuthatch cottage is every outdoor lover's dream. With its stone flagged floors, glowing log burning stove and elegant kitchen and lounge, this really is the ideal place to retreat to after a day of bird watching and walking in the valleys.
Located in the grounds of a stunning Georgian Mansion, Eccles House, it is tucked away at the end of a quaint little lane with awesome views of the valleys and hills of the Peak District in the background. Take your breakfast, lunch or dinner onto the patio, and sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet. When you’re ready, it’s just a short walk into the bustling village of Chinley, where you will find shops, pubs and even a railway station at your service.
Whether catching a train or going by car, there are so many attractions worth visiting nearby. Explore the famous ‘Blue John’ caverns or Peveril Castle in Castleton, sing in the Opera House at Buxton or get your teeth into a delicious pudding in Bakewell - the list is endless!

Mr Ashwin
Fantastic cottage in an excellent location to Chinley village where there are a selection of pubs, shops and take always. Great walks right out the door, no need to drive. Cottage was very comfortable and had everything you need for a relaxing break.

Lovely set up, three cottages in a courtyard with plenty of free parking. The cottage was clean and well equipped, the beds comfortable. Fresh farm eggs and a bottle of Red left for our enjoyment. Although rural the walk into nearby Chinley takes less than 15 minutes, a torch is handy if going out after dark, and wear something reflective, not much traffic as only a single track but safety comes first. Would definitely recommend, absolutely beautiful area with plenty to see and do even if you're not much of a walker.
