The property was very clean and we had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the showers were good. The only negatives we would say was that it was very cold in the main living room and so we had to go and purchase logs and supplies to make it bearable for us to sit in there. One radiator in the living room and one in the kitchen isn't enough. It would be good to perhaps supply throws for people to use, rugs for the floors and perhaps a portable heater or ceiling unit that offers heating. In the summer period absolutely no problem but when the evening temperature dips to 3' and under then it just isn't enough and the owner did say that there was no insulation. The heating was also not set right - we came back at 6pm one night and the heating hadn't come on. I would also mention how steep the outside drive was in the property description - I have just had a knee replacement and was paranoid that I would fall and damage it. A rail alongside the steps would be a good addition - I imagine it is very slippy once the frost arrives. We would definitely book again but would choose the summer rather than the cold period as the above would greatly affect our stay.

We arrived at the check in time agreed with the owner, the apartment was'nt locked as they were going out. First impressions were Wow ! - large rooms well furnished and great views from the windows. However we were disappointed to find that the basics you would expect were missing, eg no toilet rolls, no towels, no hand soap or washing up liquid. As we had had a long journey we had'nt expected to have to go back in the car to find a shop to buy these bits. The owner did come to the door later in the evening with a basket of towels and 2 toilet rolls. He was friendly and explained he had had a busy day. He pointed out that there was a little garden area that we could sit in. He explained the grass was very long and he had'nt got around to cutting it before we arrived. The standard of cleanliness of the whole place was a let down, the floors were sticky and the cleaning mop that was left should have been replaced as it was filthy. I filled the fluid bottle only to find out that the fluid came pouring out. The hoover had not been emptied, fridge not functioning properly. Several lights did not work, the shaving mirror lights did not work. There was however a bag of sprouting potatoes left in one of the cupboards and the remnants of previous occupants food shopping, open bags of sugar, a little oil left in a bottle, tins and other items. We were lucky that the weather was good during our weekend stay, so we were out most of the day. This could be a 5* place if the basics listed above were provided and there was more attention to cleaning before guests arrived.
