Guests say

Boshaw Cottage is highly praised for its stunning views, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including welcome packs and dog-friendly amenities. The location is ideal for walks and local dining, with a cosy and comfortable interior that makes for a delightful stay.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests report the cottage as spotlessly clean, with only one negative comment about cleanliness. This suggests an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness overall.

The location is consistently described as excellent, with beautiful views and good proximity to local attractions and walks. The presence of nearby livestock requiring dogs to be on leads is noted, which may affect suitability for some dog owners.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with soft towels and bedlinen, and a cosy atmosphere. Some guests mention the beds being a bit hard and one chair being uncomfortable, but overall comfort is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good maintenance. However, there are comments about the lack of a 'proper' double bed and a suggestion to upgrade the hoover, indicating room for improvement.

Many guests mention and appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs and dog treats. While these are well-received, it is important to note that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

We found the cottage immaculately clean and well maintained on arrival and well equipped with everything that a family could need whilst self catering. The kitchen is well equipped with everything in excellent working order and the bedding and towels were lovely, new and fresh smelling. The free standing bath is absolutely lovely for a long soak and it was nice to have the separate shower as well. Beds and chairs were reasonably comfortable and it was nice to see good quality mattress and pillow protectors had been provided. The cottage is very peaceful and ideal for a relaxing break and well situated for dog walks. We really appreciated the shortbread and milk on arrival as well as dog treat biscuits and even dog bags and a dog bed. We can highly recommend the local farm shop to get delicious sausages, pasties and pies and other treats! We visited Holmefirth and Castleton so this is a good base for both Yorkshire and Derbyshire. We hope to visit again soon!

Just as pictured, although no reference to the corner stairs at top of staircase and a small ramp across middle of landing floor. My 77 yr old Mum with a bad knee and not used to stairs, struggled to navigate up and down freely. Might have reconsidered if had known. Also put back lamp on landing for night time trips to bathroom as the ramp is tight between both bedrooms and bathroom. Nevertheless, the cottage has everything except a dishwasher. Very limited phone signal, no WiFi but managed a signal at top of staircase only. Superb location, shouting distance to a super friendly and busy pub. Great area for walkers, or country drives. Super close to Holmfirth and its vineyard with great views. Also visited winscar resorvior short drive away. Property and its location ticks all the boxes
