Guests celebrate the property's attention to detail, dog-friendly features, and the warm welcome from hosts Debbie & Tom. The lodge is lauded for its comfort, including a comfy bed and luxurious bath, and its suitability as a peaceful retreat with beautiful gardens and local walks.

Reviewers consistently mention the property's spotless condition, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes to the overall experience.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and beauty, with easy access to local amenities and walks. The slight deduction reflects the lack of explicit detail on the location's convenience for all potential activities.

Comfort is a standout feature, with numerous guests highlighting the huge, comfy bed, cosy fire, and the overall relaxing atmosphere of the property.

Facilities are deemed excellent, including a well-equipped kitchen with an Aga, a secure garden, and a wood-fired hot tub. A small deduction is made as the Aga may not suit everyone's cooking preferences.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident from the reviews, mentioning a welcome basket with local specialties. While such gestures are greatly appreciated, they are offered at the hosts' discretion and may vary.

About this property

Set amongst the olive trees in a secluded, quiet and peaceful location, Olive Tree House is a unique, oak clad, romantic bolt hole boasting stunning rural views. The village of Ripe is within walking distance and the historic town of Lewes and the Sussex coast are both just an easy 20 to 30 minute drive away.

Tastefully decorated in a traditional rustic cabin style, Olive Tree House has a cosy authentic feel with internal timber clad walls, floors and ceilings throughout. The living space is open-plan and has all you need for a relaxing stay. The kitchen is well-equipped including an electric Aga and the dining and sitting area is complete with a cosy wood burning stove. French doors lead out onto the landscaped deck, which overlooks the beautiful gardens. When it's time for bed, slide back the barn door to reveal the romantic bedroom suite with its own doors to the terrace. Here you can soak in the decadent slipper bath before climbing into the comfortable cast iron super-king size bed. The owners have really thought of everything, there is even a wall mounted fire in the bedroom to keep you toasty and warm on cooler evenings. After a refreshing night’s sleep, the invigorating rain shower in the en-suite wet room is the perfect way to start your day.

Outside, enjoy the breath-taking rural views from the raised, balconied terrace or climb down to the wood fired, eco hot tub to soothe away the day. As night falls, light the fire pit and enjoy starry evenings and the sound of nearby wildlife.

Don’t forget your walking boots as there are an array of wonderful country walks and woodlands to explore. Ripe has an excellent village shop providing an abundance of fresh produce, a good selection of wines, a café with homemade treats, a pop up pub; and there’s also a fish and chip van that visits the village on Thursdays.

The historic market town of Lewes offers restaurants, cafés, independent retailers, antique shops and a farmer’s market on the first Saturday of every month. The glorious Sussex coast can be reached in under half an hour’s drive where breath-taking cliff top walks and stunning seascapes are waiting to be discovered.

Brilliant long weekend at a beautiful spot. Dog loved it and we never had to worry about her as everything is dog friendly and fenced off, including the lovely big field. Just a great place to stay for a few days relaxation.

Wonderful property. . Debbie was a fantastic host and had a wonderful team it was lovely to meet them and of course their fur babies. Olive Tree House was beautiful, clean (spotless) and amazing. I can't even begin to write everything as it would go on for pages. It ticked all the boxes we look for in a property for my husband , myself and 2 poochies. We have stayed in many properties and always looking for the perfect one and I must say we have found it. Secluded and private( but walking distance to amenities) . Beautiful village and friendly village store for essentials and goodies. Huge garden and totally fenced in for piece of mind with 2 small cockapoos. Then (even better) a huge paddock for them to run around straight out the garden gate. They loved 😍 it so much. The property itself is stunning! Beautifully designed with a lot of love and thought. Huge bed and lovely slipper bath and then through to bathroom with a lovely rainfall shower. Comfy couch in the living room and open plan kitchen with everything you need. We didn't get on with the Aga ( we are novices) but do see it's appeal and it kept the whole property warm without having to use the log burner on colder days. Great wifi and we took our fire stick to put in TV to watch our programmes. We didn't get chance to use the wood fired hot tub or fire pit but it looked amazing. We didnt use the car once! So many gorgeous walks from the doorstep and lovely pub in 20 minute walk through the church garden/footpath and through corn field and down a quiet lane. We didn't want to leave and booked our next stay whilst we were there for the other property cherrystone barn ( which is next door) in April for our wedding anniversary which looks just as fabulous. We can't wait to return again. Thank you Debbie for sharing your little piece of heaven x
