Ryde, on the Isle of Wight has a range of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as six miles of beaches. Along the esplanade there are bowling greens, tenpin bowling, putting greens and childrens rides as well as a lake and paddling pool. The island is brimming with things to see and do, Ryde is the perfect base.

This has the advantage of making it very peaceful with virtually no traffic noise. I had not realised that the play area with the snooker table and table tennis would be for our exclusive use which was a pleasant surprise. The grounds were lovely and bigger than expected and the property was extremely spacious. The kitchen was small compared to the rest of the property but perfectly adequate and we cooked and ate well using it. There was a cold tap not working in the upstairs shower room but the caretakers were aware and said that a new tap was on order. The whole place was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here. We would recommend it and, if we returned to the Isle of Wight, we would stay again.

Comfortable beds, good cooker with all basic cooking equipment. Loved the layout and space it provided. One down side was the bathrooms. There was a notice in the downstairs bathroom asking us not to use the shower. The upstairs shower had a good powerful head but the cubicle was very small, which made it awkward for the older member of the party!! One shower for 8 people is difficult and I think this needs looking at. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely return.
