Breath-taking walks then extend eastward past Tennyson's monument to Freshwater Bay, Brook, Brighstone and Niton, or westwards to The Needles and Alum Bay. The beach at Alum Bay is within a 25-minute walk and is renowned for its coloured sands along with scenic boat trips to The Needles. The golden coves of Totland and Colwell Bay are within a five-minute drive and here, swimming, paddling and fishing can be enjoyed. The quaint town of Freshwater is also nearby and this has a variety of small shops, public houses, a sports centre with swimming pool and a popular golf course. The attractive port and sailing centre of Yarmouth is within a ten minute drive. Here, there are some excellent restaurants, boutique style shops and boat trips along the river or to the mainland.

Tennyson Wing is the first floor, south west wing of Alum Bay House - a grand detached property which has been carefully converted to provide six dwellings. There is also a separate bathroom with a bath, hand shower, basin and WC. Meals can be cooked and prepared in the well-equipped fitted kitchen with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer-dryer.

Heating and electricity are without extra charge. The property is heated with storage heaters with convectors. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. WiFi internet access is available. Tennyson Wing has a sunny terrace with attractive ironwork garden furniture and parasol. Visitors can also access a beautiful area of garden to the rear of Alum Bay House where there is shared use of a large lawn where one can relax and children can play games. There are wonderful views across surrounding fields to the downs and to the western reaches of the Solent, with the Hampshire coastline in the distance. Parking is available for two cars to the side of the property. There is a regular bus service within a five-minute walk.
