Sanctuary Cottage is a well-regarded holiday rental with many guests praising its cleanliness, convenient location, and thoughtful touches. The property is celebrated for its proximity to local amenities and scenic walks, with several reviews highlighting the well-equipped kitchen and the inclusion of dog-friendly features. While some guests mentioned minor maintenance issues and the desire for better outdoor space, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean, with several positive remarks about its tidiness. However, a few mentioned cobwebs and dust, suggesting room for improvement. The high level of cleanliness was noted as a strong point, but the minor issues prevent a perfect score.
The location of Sanctuary Cottage is highly praised for its proximity to beaches, shops, and public transport. Guests appreciate the easy access to local attractions and the peaceful setting. The positive feedback on location is consistent, indicating a high level of satisfaction.
Comfort is generally well-received, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the house cosy. However, some guests noted issues with lighting, sofa support, and space in the twin room, suggesting that while the cottage is comfortable for most, there is room for improvement in this area.
Facilities are regarded as excellent, particularly the well-appointed kitchen. Guests appreciate the inclusion of a washing machine and dishwasher. Criticisms include minor maintenance issues like loose toilet seats and a broken shower head slider. Overall, the facilities meet guests' needs but would benefit from some attention to detail.
While guests frequently mention thoughtful touches such as biscuits, milk, and dog amenities, there is no explicit mention of gifts. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such extras are a standard offering, and the score for thoughtfulness is set to null due to insufficient information.

Pillows were really flat too. The towels had also seen better days. This was only in the main bedroom as only 2 of us stayed there. I think property owners should pay more attention to linen as it is quite a personal thing that is in good condition - as we would expect at home. I'm not one to complain but felt if I didn't mention it, nothing would happen

Food and other shopping a few minutes away in Freshwater, takeaways in Totland itself, and cafe/restaurants on the beach edge. Nice place to stay, and from which to explore the rest of the island.

The only thing I would think will really improve it if something creative is done at the front to make it a nicer area to sit in. Other than that really quite faultless.
