Guests say

West Sea View No 5 is praised for its peaceful setting, stunning views, and excellent location for walks and beach access. The adjoining cafe is appreciated for its food and service. Some guests have returned multiple times, indicating a strong affinity for the property. However, there are mentions of issues with cleanliness, particularly pet odours, and maintenance concerns such as shower pressure and outdated facilities.

Cleanliness has received mixed feedback. Several guests have noted a strong smell of dogs and the presence of dog hair, suggesting that pet odour and cleanliness could be improved. However, other reviews mention the accommodation being clean and comfortable.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to walks, beaches, and the town of Yarmouth. Guests have expressed their appreciation for the beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and the convenience of the local cafe.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests finding the property quiet and comfortable. However, there are comments about the need for better showers and more powerful heating, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

Facilities have been a point of contention. Positive remarks about the cafe and the location contrast with criticism of the shower, lack of WiFi, and the need for better kitchen equipment and outdoor furniture. The mention of a £1 electric meter suggests some guests were unprepared for this aspect.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the host. Therefore, this score cannot be accurately determined.

About this property

This delightful beachfront Yarmouth coastal cottage apartment offers a tranquil and rustic open plan living accommodation with superb panoramic coastal views across the Solent towards Lymington from the upper floor. Once an old boathouse, this Yarmouth cottage now boasts a loft-style bedroom, while on the ground floor you can recharge on the comfy sofas. From your patio door, take a relaxing walk along the shingle beach and enjoy the ever-changing scenery the Solent has to offer. An ideal, coastal and romantic retreat. Note: This apartment can be booked with Refs. 4220, 4221, 4222, 905106, 905107 and 906577, together they sleep 20.

The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings. Yarmouth's narrow streets are home to an array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry viii's castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling and walking to be had along the coastal path, or why not take an energetic stroll across to the nearby Tennyson Down? Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, and is ideal for swimming and crabbing from the jetty. 4 miles away is Compton beach, famous for dinosaur remains; go there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.

Everything we needed was provided for in number 5. The boathouse cafe next door was very good for food. Not very close to any other amenities. Fort Victoria was brilliant for walking the dog just a few minutes away .
