Old Vines Cottage in Whitstable is praised for its fabulous location, comfort, and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the proximity to the beach and town, the snug and well-furnished rooms, and the convenience of on-site parking. The cottage is child-friendly and dog-friendly, enhancing its appeal for family stays. Some guests mention the cosiness of the space and the steep staircases, but overall, the experience is highly regarded.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as very clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location is unanimously celebrated for being right on the beach, within walking distance of the town's main attractions, and offering the rare benefit of on-site parking in Whitstable.
The cottage is repeatedly referred to as comfortable and cosy, with well-furnished bedrooms and living spaces. However, some guests note limited headroom in the upper floor bedrooms and the snug nature of communal areas.
Facilities are generally praised, including a well-equipped kitchen and the provision of a second toilet. However, the mention of steep staircases and the need for care when navigating them suggests some room for improvement in maintenance for safety.
The provision of child and dog-friendly amenities, such as a childgate, highchair, doggy towel, and poo bags, reflects a thoughtful approach by the owners. While these gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

We stayed here for a week with our dog and couldn’t fault it! It’s a lovely 3 storey cottage with loads of character and kitted out really well! It was fantastic to be right next to the sea and also The old Neptune pub which quickly became our local! Really close to other seaside resorts also. Highly recommend.

Lovely house in the most perfect location - not only for the pebble beach and the Old Neptune but the amazing sunsets too. I think the house would be a tight squeeze for 6 people - the top floor bedrooms are very small with a low ceilings and it would be a squeeze in the cosy lounge and around the kitchen table for more than 4 adults. Whitstable is a lovely town full of friendly locals and there was no shortage of places to eat. Everywhere is easy to walk or if you want to go further a field and explore the other coastal towns and leave your car at home, the train is very easy.

We had a really good time at the Old Vines Cottage. It's in a fabulous location, on a beach, next to a lovely pub, within walking distance of the harbour and all that it has to offer. The whole place is dog friendly. The owners of the cottage left us a doggy towel and poo bags which was a really nice thing to do. We took 3 generations of our family and we were all very comfortable and had a happy holiday.
