Guests say

Sea Rest in Bude, Cornwall, is praised for its cleanliness, convenient location, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the proximity to the town and beaches, and some have enjoyed their stay enough to consider rebooking. The property is described as a good base for exploring the area, with supermarkets within walking distance. However, there are recurring comments about the uncomfortable sofas and suggestions for garden maintenance.

The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it was clean and tidy upon arrival. However, there are isolated complaints about specific cleanliness issues, such as a dirty rotary line and an unclean bathroom extractor fan.

The location is highly praised for being within walking distance to the town centre, beaches, and supermarkets. It is also considered a good base for exploring Cornwall, contributing to its high score.

While the property is often described as comfortable and some guests had good nights' sleep, there are numerous complaints about the uncomfortable sofas and issues with the bunk beds, which affects the comfort score.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and good storage. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as problems with the showers, garden upkeep, and appliance instructions, which lowers the score.

Guests have noted the welcome goods as a thoughtful touch, but as these are not consistently mentioned in all reviews, it suggests that such gestures may not be guaranteed for every stay.

This is the second time this year we have stayed at the property we are disappointed in the garden which seems to be unloved. There are still things in the garden that were there when we visited in May (broken patio-cigarette end that were in a little plant pot-overgrown bushes that infringes the lawn)unable to let the dog out . We have booked for next year so hopefully on a quiet time all could be sorted out and we will enjoy our stay with you.

The house is ideally situated for the beach and shops in the area or if you would to travel further. We as a family think it is a good place to stay.During our stay this month we had a slight problem with the shower in the ensuite .I called the number given on the booking and spoke to a lady called Jenifer and she managed to get it sorted out within a few days which was good news to us and brilliant service. The only let down for the house and garden as it needs a bit of TLC .

Great having recycling collection info but no containers to put it in. Cannot use open drawer of freezer as frost has it closed up. No information on any of the appliances. Lack of information on the heating and hot water, the thermostat doesn’t work at all. No information on the hot water cylinder upstairs, something you need to turn on if you plan to use either the Bath or the en-suite shower. Would have liked to have been asked if we would like fresh linens for our second week. We could have washed the sheets but as the rotary line in the garden is held together with insulation tape and was so dirty from exposure to the elements, we didn’t feel that was an option. Needs new light bulb in the third bedroom as the one there you might as well not turn on as it produces allot no light whatsoever. The grill for the extractor fan in the main bathroom hasn’t been cleaned in what looks like years. The toilet in the en-suite shower room off the master bedroom seems to retain a smell of urine no matter how much you flush. To say it was a disappointment would be an understatement, would not stay in this property again.
