Little Jack's is a well-regarded holiday rental in Cornwall, praised for its cleanliness, modern amenities, and good site facilities. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to local attractions and the thoughtful touches like cookies and Haribo on arrival. While some guests mention issues with parking, water pressure, and bed comfort, the overall sentiment is positive, with many willing to return and recommend the property.
The property consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests describing it as 'spotless' and 'very clean'. The attention to maintaining a clean environment contributes positively to the guest experience.
The location is generally praised for its convenience to shops, beaches, and local attractions. However, some guests noted the presence of a nearby road and parking limitations, slightly affecting the overall satisfaction with the location.
Guests find the property comfortable, with a well-maintained house and modern appliances. However, there are several mentions of the single beds being too soft or needing replacement, which impacts the comfort score.
Facilities like the on-site swimming pool and pub are appreciated, but some guests experienced issues with water pressure and parking. The booking system for the pool due to COVID-19 restrictions was also noted, but this is an external factor.
While guests were delighted by the welcoming gestures such as Haribo and cookies, these are mentioned infrequently and not guaranteed for every stay. Therefore, a score cannot be accurately provided based on the available reviews.

The Tamar Valley AONB Centre is located in the small nearby village of Drakewalls, offering information on local places to visit. This area is famous for its mining heritage landscape, with the Tamar River meandering through a patchwork of green fields. There is walking and cycling in abundance for those who like getting out and about, as well as the National Trust's Cotehele and Cotehele Mill and Morwellham Quay taking you back in time with its copper mine museum. Explore the area by boat on the Tamar Passenger Ferry or you can ride the train on the scenic Tamar Valley Railway Line. You also have Launceston in the north, with its Norman castle, and excellent golf courses nearby, Tavistock to the east, known as the gateway to Dartmoor and Saltash to the south famous for its Brunel Bridge. There is plenty to do in this wonderful region, so choose this base for your next holiday in southwest England.
Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are fabulous views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound. Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offers a good selection of shops, inns and cafes, as well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties. A few miles away, the quaint village of Calstock clings to the steep banks of the river Tamar and is dominated by the splendid Calstock Railway Viaduct, a giant 11-arched stone construction supporting one of Britain’s most picturesque branch lines running through the Tamar Valley. Other interesting places along the river are Cotehele, a beautiful historic house and gardens owned by the National Trust with a small quay and inn, and Morwhellam Quay, a theme park that staged a living history production for the BBC and where visitors can explore the rich mining heritage and watch blacksmiths, potters and craftsmen at work. The pannier market town of Tavistock is only nine miles from Callington and is well worth a visit on your way to a day’s walk on Dartmoor. A splendid base to explore south Cornwall and West Devon.

The staff were all helpful & there asap if you needed anything. Good facilities. Enjoyed a lovely trip to Plymouth by train, station nearby. Kit Hill wonderful views, if you go visit the Cafe, cake yummy. Love Tavistock. We took our filter jug for water. Needs end of season sprucing up & patio gate for dog.

One of the smaller mattresses was dodgy but the children said this made it comfy. I think for an adult it may be unsuitable but a child it didnât cause any issues. A benefit of LJâs is the use of the leisure facilities, which we made use of daily. The information booklet contains some really useful advice on places to visit but it really would benefit from an update. The years have not been kind to it. Mentioned on a previous review, the decking is grubby and I did slip down a step, but I wasnât wearing my glasses and the roads and pavements had that slippy feel due to the weather. None of this put me off LJâs. I will happily go back. It had everything we needed and in a good location to explore E/Cornwall + Devon areas. Recommended!
