Gunnislake is a small village on the Tamar River. It has a few shops and pubs. The picturesque Tamar Valley Railway runs from the village to Plymouth along the riverbank. The Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are within reach, and Tavistock, with its pannier market, pubs, and restaurants, and Calstock, a fishing village known for its crafts and festivals, are also nearby.

On arrival there was no check in which meant we could go direct to the lodge. The lodge was lovely, clean and tidy and suitable for a wheel chair user although the toilet is separate to the bathroom and quite compact but that didn't affect our stay. Provided with lovely clean fluffy towels and decent bedding. We could not have asked for anything else during this stay - everything you could possibly need was provided and the extra's provided were a really nice touch. Will definitely recommend and looking to book again next year!!

Perfect for our needs and lovely location between Callington and Tavistock. Only slight issue was the lack of parking...nearest spots were a couple of hundred yards away if you got lucky. Wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues. Other than that nothing to pick fault with at all.
