Guests say

Edwin's View is a well-received cottage in Cornwall, praised for its comfort, dog-friendly environment, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the friendly owners, comfortable beds, and the enclosed garden for pets. The property is considered a great base for exploring Cornwall, with some guests highlighting the need for minor improvements.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, with modern and fresh touches. However, a few guests mentioned areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning or maintenance, slightly affecting the overall impression.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, privacy, and convenience for exploring Cornwall. The views and the proximity to both north and south coasts are appreciated, making it an ideal base for travel.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of a good night's sleep and a comfortable double bed. Some guests noted the settee and TV height as less comfortable, indicating room for improvement.

The facilities are well-regarded, with a fully equipped kitchen and secure garden. However, some guests reported minor issues with appliances and suggested the addition of items like a DVD player. There were also comments on the need for better maintenance in some areas.

While guests have mentioned a bottle of wine and biscuits, there are not enough instances to accurately assess the consistency of such gestures. Therefore, while these touches are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for all stays.

We simultaneously rented The Mill. The open plan upstairs layout was perfect for eating together as a big group and having lots of spaces for cosy chats. We challenged the kitchen space with large dinners and it met up to our requirements. It was very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. The bedrooms were spacious and comfy and the bathrooms met our needs. Outdoors the animal feeding/watching and the badminton/football space were very popular for all age groups and it was great for a base for cycling and running. Lots of parking space too. We’re coming back! ASAP! Thank you.

Everything was so comfortable including the bedrooms. The shower and bath was lovely andso relaxing. The garden was ideal asit was enclosed for our new golden retriever puppy

The handle on the shower screen was also loose. My only other criticism is that the bath towels were far too small. You should be able to comfortably wrap a bath towel around your waist (I’m 38 inch). These were child sizes. Some may think I’m picky; just my opinion! Other than these minor points, the cottage was fine, with a good view from the sun room, was centrally heated, had a log burner (which we didn’t use), had a comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen. TV and Wi-Fi internet were ok, and TV in the bedroom was a bonus. We were able to park right outside which was great. We were informed by Sykes cottages that the owners would meet us on arrival at 5pm to give us the keys. This wasn’t the case. On arrival the key was just left in the outside door lock, for us to let ourselves in. As we left at 4.30am on our last day, we never met or had any dealings with the owners. The cost of the cottage for the week was good value for the time of year (mid Feb), and it is well placed for visiting Hayle, Helston, St Ives, Penzance and the surrounding areas. If asked would I stay there again, the answer would be ‘yes’.
