Guests say

Peacehaven is a well-situated cottage in Cornwall, offering a peaceful setting with well-kept gardens, ideal for exploring the local area. Guests appreciate the quiet site, the outdoor space, and the well-equipped accommodation. Some guests have enjoyed their stay despite noting issues, and the property has been praised for its thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts.

Numerous reviews mention cleanliness issues, including the presence of spiders, cobwebs, mould, musty smells, and unclean bed linen. Despite some positive comments, the recurring theme of cleanliness concerns significantly impacts this score.

The location is frequently praised for being quiet, peaceful, and well-situated for exploring east Cornwall. The surrounding gardens and nearby pubs add to the appeal, although some guests were disappointed with the closure of on-site facilities.

Guests have found the beds comfortable and the setting cosy, but there are complaints about uncomfortable chairs and overpowering smells affecting the overall comfort. The mixed feedback suggests that while the property has potential, comfort levels vary.

The property is described as well-equipped with amenities like a big TV and good Wi-Fi. However, issues with maintenance, such as non-working showers and lights, and outdated safety equipment, have been noted, leading to a moderate score.

Several reviews mention welcome gifts, which are well-received and add a thoughtful touch to the guests' arrival. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a pleasant bonus rather than a consistent offering.

Cups were dirty with tea stains dirty pillow cases washing up bowl was greasy and arrival and departure info had different times. I think the photos of Peacehaven should be updated as they give a false impression of the property

Thank you for the thoughtful welcome gift of milk and a scrummy carrot cake. Most appreciated. The cottage is clean and well stocked and just right for a family of 4 adults. The beds are clean and comfortable, and the sofa is quite possibly the most comfortable thing I have sat/lounged on in a long time. Love that there is a tv in each room and you are able to sign into your own streaming services. The Wifi/Broadband is very fast and we had no connections problems at all. The kitchen has everything you need, including tongs! (so many places don't have tongs! pet peeve/quirk of mine) The stove was easy to use, but I was grateful for the instructions inside the cupboard door. Could do with another baking tray, but again thats a personal preference, and I managed quite well with what was there. I like that there is a washing machine and I could take clean clothes home. The only slight negative comment I have is the shower drain could be checked more regularly. It was very slow to drain so I pulled it out and it was full of slimy decaying hair and soap from previous visitors. I cleaned it and the shower drained perfectly after that. The holiday village itself is lovely, clean, tidy and very well maintained, and perfectly located to explore the surrounding area. I would highly recommend Peacehaven and would stay again if I was holidaying in that area.
