Guests say

Ferry View Cottage in Looe, Cornwall, is praised for its beautiful views, great location, and well-stocked kitchen. Guests enjoyed the proximity to local shops, beaches, and activities. The property is noted for its suitability for families with teens and offers a peaceful atmosphere. Some guests mentioned challenges with parking and steep access.

Most guests found the cottage clean and homely. However, there were isolated comments about dust, a broken toilet seat, and mold residue which suggest room for improvement in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and convenience to local amenities, shops, and activities. The steep hill access and parking difficulties are noted, but do not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback on location.

Guests found the cottage comfortable, with a special mention of the bed's comfort and the relaxing views. Some guests noted the property could be chilly and the layout over three floors was not ideal for young children.

The property is well-equipped with a variety of utensils and a good selection of board games. Issues with maintenance such as a broken toilet seat, a hissing radiator, and a damp-smelling ensuite affected the score.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

This is a lovely cottage, with plenty of space. The living area is fantastic open and airy with delightful views over Looe. The sitting area and balcony is great. The kitchen is very well equipped and there’s plenty of space to store your food and supplies. We all found the beds very comfortable and the storage for clothes was very good . The lower rooms felt a bit a damp and chilly so we put on the heating in the evenings. Both showers were really good pleats of hot water and good pressure. The house is up a very narrow sloping road that is quite challenging and if you have a very large car or an anxious driver it would be very difficult and stressful. There are steep steps down to the cottage too. Which if you had a mobility issues or had small children or babies wouldn’t be ideal. The location for everything is fab though. Easy to walk around Looe, get the bus or the ferry. shops , beaches and restaurants are lovely friendly people everywhere. Definitely would recommend

Lovely cottage. Relaxing and peaceful views of the river and looe houses. Fairly steep hill up to the house which was fine in our automatic car (people carrier) and parking was tight but we managed it fine because it wasn’t full, however I can see it would be tricky even with a smaller car to park if it were full. Bed was extremely comfortable and decently sized and the rooms were a good size too. We hadn’t realised it was over three floors (didn’t read small print!) so not ideal with young children but can work it so that the younger ones are on the same floor in the basement. The house was quite chilly so would advise packing some warm clothes unless heatwave/warm weather forecast. Kitchen and place well equipped and a fantastic selection of board games etc to play which looked brand new.

A nice cottage well equipped but we had issues with the ensuite bedroom as the shower ceiling was black and damp with a dehumidifier running 24/7 and smelling very damp so we couldn't use the ensuite. After several days the cleaning company admitted there had been a leak 4 weeks prior and offered compensation which we accepted as we were nearly halfway through our holiday. I would have preferred to been advised before our holiday so we could have been given the option of relocating or refunding,
