Little Strand in ROCK, Cornwall, is a well-loved family home that offers stunning views and direct beach access. Guests appreciate its homely feel, ample storage, and the array of games available for rainy days. While some minor maintenance issues and external noise disturbances have been noted, the property's location and comfort are consistently praised.
There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score for this category.
The location is highly praised for its outstanding views across the bay, proximity to local pubs and restaurants, and direct beach access. The only drawback mentioned is the nearby building work causing noise.
The property is described as comfortable and homely, with special mentions of the views from the bedroom and lounge. However, some guests noted a creaky main bed and thin curtains that let in light.
Facilities are generally appreciated, such as the functional bungalow and the games provided. However, there are comments about the need for maintenance on the outdoor terrace, a shower holder, and a tap, as well as the absence of a cafetière.
While guests have noted the property feels like a family home and not just a rental, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.
From its idyllic location, Little Strand offers magnificent views of the Camel estuary and direct private access to Porthilly beach. A large south-facing deck overlooks the garden, which is arranged in terraces and steps. Sleeping six guests in three bedrooms, the holiday house also welcomes one pet by arrangement, with parking space for 2-3 cars. Fresh and inviting, Little Strand is the ideal spot in which to escape the working week and immerse yourself in Cornish life. Make the most of the spacious split-level terrace with its gorgeous scenery, an ideal spot for sundowners. On a cooler day, enjoy your meals in the dining room and still enjoy those amazing views. Meander through the garden down to Porthilly cove, a quiet, relatively undiscovered beach, that is great for walking the dog. North Cornwall is a picturesque and charming location to stay; perfect for water-sports enthusiasts, keen ramblers and lovers of the rugged Cornish coastline. Stroll to the nearby Blue Tomato cafe, the pubs and restaurants for convenient dining; keen cooks however, can find all they need in the village grocer, bakery, butcher, fishmonger and delicatessen. Check out Polzeath beach for great waves and buzzing surf culture and yet more choice of places to eat and shop. A short drive away, visit the pretty fishing harbour of Port Isaac, the setting for the famous Doc Martin TV series. Enjoy a seaside break at Little Strand.

All good apart from some minor attention needed. Shower holder in the main bathroom is starting to break up as the plastic is old and brittle. Cold water tap in same room needs fixing as the flow rate is v.v. small. Very happy overall, great holiday.
