Sanctuary Bay in Carbis Bay is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its spaciousness, comfort, and excellent location near the beach and train station. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property and its suitability for families and dogs. While some maintenance and cleaning issues are noted, the positive experiences, including the helpfulness of the staff and the property's amenities, contribute to its overall favourable reviews.
The cleanliness of Sanctuary Bay has received mixed feedback. Some guests felt the need to re-clean certain areas, particularly the kitchen and garden, while others found the property very clean. The presence of dog hairs and mould in some reviews suggests room for improvement, but overall, the property seems to maintain a good standard of cleanliness.
The location of Sanctuary Bay is highly praised, with its proximity to the beach and St Ives being a highlight for many guests. The convenience of the nearby train station and the scenic coastal walks add to the appeal. The steep hill to the beach is noted, but it does not significantly detract from the overall positive reception of the location.
Guests generally find Sanctuary Bay very comfortable, with its quality furnishings and homely feel. The property is described as spacious and suitable for both families and pets. Some guests mentioned issues with light in the bedrooms and the height of the toilets, but these are minor compared to the overall comfort experienced.
The facilities at Sanctuary Bay are well-regarded, with the property being described as well-equipped and offering good quality fittings and furniture. Some guests encountered issues with appliances and maintenance, such as the television reception, door locks, and water pressure, but these do not overshadow the otherwise positive feedback about the property's amenities.
There is insufficient information to accurately score the thoughtfulness category, as the reviews do not consistently mention gifts or welcome packs. While some guests appreciated the dog-friendly touches, the absence of a consistent mention of gifts or special attention to guest comfort means a score cannot be provided.

A lovely comfortable property in a very convenient location. Only a short walk to the beach and coast path to St Ives. We were pleased to see new blackout blinds in upstairs bedroom which helped to reduce early morning light. Broadband is also greatly improved from previous visit. Disappointed that there was no welcome pack or complementary toiletries and beach bag as in previous years. Also no folder with info about local doctors, shops, WiFi code, information about rubbish and recycling collection, which was confusing with 3 binsHowever this didnât affect our stay and adults and dog thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

This was around 10pm, so persisted and eventually opened the door. Previous reviews has also mentioned this. We reported to Sykes, who said someone come and resolve thatâs day or the next. No one turned up for the rest of our stay, so do not know if it was resolved. Fortunately the second set of keys seemed to work and ok. Also, the refuse collection refused to collect the bin, as the bill has not been paid, so account was on stop. Lovely house, but the key issue needs to be sorted.
