About this property

Do you feel like retreating from the rat race for a while? Rostowan is the perfect hideaway where you can escape from it all to the beauty of the Roseland Peninsula. The timber holiday cottage is at the end of a quarter-mile track, two miles from Portscatho and only a short walk from National Trust Towan Beach. It provides everything you need for a relaxing self-catering holiday on the Cornish coast. The property sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is dog-friendly. It's great for couples or families.

Rostowan is everything you and your family want for your Cornwall holiday cottage. This self-catering holiday home is on a quiet lane a few hundred metres from National Trust Towan Beach, one of the most tranquil spots in the southwest. It's perfect if you have kids, ideal for couples, and fantastic if you have dogs. There are two bedrooms to sleep four people, a large enclosed garden with a deck and a gas barbecue for relaxing on summer evenings after a day at the beach. The living room has a good log fire for warming up when you return from a blustery winter walk along the coast.

Dog-friendly Towan Beach is a 5 minute easy walk it is on the Roseland Peninsula, enjoy a cream tea or lunch at Thirstea an amazing cafe at the top of Towan Beach. It is about two miles or a gentle half-hour walk from Portscatho, where there are two cafes, a village shop and two pubs, including the dog-friendly Plume of Feathers pub. St Mawes is nearby and accessible either by car or ferry. It's a bigger village than Portscatho and has the advantage of regular ferries to Falmouth and Truro. Rostowan isn't isolated, but it is slightly off the beaten track, making it appealing. Quiet coastal lanes replace motorways, and the cottage is a quarter of a mile along a private track. Even in the height of the summer holidays, it feels tranquil.

Your days can be spent exploring the spectacular Cornish coast via the South West Coast Path or along the waterways on a kayak, a paddleboard or a boat. The Roseland Peninsula is not a place if you want to fill your days with gaudy attractions and glitzy nights out. Its charm is in the splendour of the scenery, protected as part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are quiet coves and harbours where fishing boats putter in and out. Sunbathe at Pendower, Carne, Caerhays or Porthboer beaches, or take the kids rock pooling at Porthscatho and Portholland. Wander around manicured gardens where sub-tropical plants flourish in the mild climate or admire the views from the lighthouse at St Anthonys Head.

Rostowan sits in the heart of one of England's most gorgeous natural landscapes. It's comfortable and welcoming for everyone in any season.
