Guests say

Obo's Retreat in Wadebridge, Cornwall, is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and comfortable furnishings. Guests appreciate the convenient location opposite a dog-friendly pub and the property's suitability for families, including a secure garden for pets. The well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches like board games for rainy days add to the charm. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with several guests commenting on its tidy and welcoming state. However, a few guests mentioned finding dog hairs and experiencing blackened feet from walking on the floors, suggesting room for improvement in deep cleaning.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to beaches, local amenities, and a pub across the road. It is considered an ideal base for exploring North Cornwall, contributing to its high score.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the living spaces cosy, with ample room for families. Some minor discomforts are mentioned, such as uncomfortable dining chairs and hot pan handles, but these do not significantly detract from the overall comfort.

The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, but there are several reports of maintenance issues such as a tricky hob, low-pressure shower, and a front door that is difficult to lock. These issues suggest that while facilities are generally good, there is a need for attention to maintenance.

While some guests were delighted with welcome gifts, others did not receive them, and there is no consistent mention of such amenities across the reviews. Therefore, it cannot be confirmed that gifts are a standard offering, and the score is set to null.

after a 6 hour drive it would have been nice to find at least some tea bags and milk. i see this has been said before by other people. also would have been nice to have toilet paper in each of the bathrooms. seems a bit tight not to provide these two things. i extended my stay nonetheless as it is comfortable and well placed.

Also the dinner plates and crockery were worn and need replacing. The dryer was also very poor, the condenser dryer takes hours to dry any washing. A normal tumble dryer would be much better.

Very comfortable beds and a secure garden for our dog. Would definitely recommemd and we hope to return next year. Only criticism was no welcome pack, not even a pint of milk!
