Plan days out to St George’s Cove, 3.5 miles away, to swim or picnic on the sand. Try your hand at surfing too at the bay beaches of Harlyn or Treyarnon, both 5.5 miles away. Hire bicycles in Padstow and head out along a section of the mainly traffic-free Camel Trail, which runs for 18 miles to Wentfordbridge, passing Wadebridge and Bodmin along the way. Keen walkers can also follow this route.

Climb the external staircase to let yourselves into your welcoming first floor apartment. Slip your walking boots or beach shoes off in the hall and head through to the kitchen to put the kettle on.
