The breathtaking beach is just a short stroll away and is a popular spot for swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking, where you can try your hand at something new if you’re feeling up to the challenge! Why not join one of the local mackerel fishing trips which run regularly or simply watch the local fishermen with their traditional fishing boats bringing their catches ashore? When it comes to food, there is no shortage of options for eating out with Beer having a fantastic choice of restaurants and pubs offering local food and of course, fresh seafood; be sure to also sample a pint of Beer at the aptly-named Barrel of Beer. The nearby seaside town of Seaton is a great place to visit, offering The Wetlands Centre, made up of three nature reserves with nearly 4km of level trails and broadwalk through beautiful marshland and reed beds alongside the River Axe estuary. Lyme Regis, renowned for fossil hunting and the iconic Cobb harbour, is another favourite and well within reach for a memorable day out.

Beer is a small picturesque fishing village on the south Devon coast near Seaton. The shingle beach is very sheltered, backed by limestone cliffs and was once fertile smuggling territory, plus contraband was hidden in nearby caves, which are now a popular tourist attraction. Beer is situated on the stretch of Devon coastline, known as the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and the village offers sloping streets lined with picturesque stone houses and cottages built on many different levels of the steep valley sides. There are a good range of shops, friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs in Beer, plus just outside the village is the popular Pecorama Gardens, which are perched on the hill overlooking Lyme Bay.
