Anne's Pantry in Uplyme is a characterful cottage appreciated for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and thoughtful welcome pack. It's well-equipped and offers a homely feel with a convenient location for exploring Lyme Regis and surrounding areas. The garden and river walk to the beach are highlights, though some guests noted the steep steps and parking as minor concerns.
The cottage generally receives high praise for cleanliness, with guests describing it as 'spotless' and 'clean'. However, a few guests mentioned areas that had been missed, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is well-regarded for its proximity to Lyme Regis and scenic walks, but the busy road and parking difficulties have been noted as drawbacks by several guests.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere and comfortable beds. However, concerns about the steep steps to the loft and the size of the main bedroom suggest that comfort could be enhanced for some guests.
While the kitchen is described as well-equipped and the cottage as having everything needed, specific mentions of facilities like the hob burner not working and poor lighting suggest some maintenance issues. However, there are not enough reviews detailing the facilities to provide a comprehensive score.
The welcome pack is frequently mentioned and appreciated, indicating a high level of thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gifts, while delightful, may not be guaranteed for every stay.

The River Lim path is a great way to access Lyme Regis; particularly good to see the brown trout and the weir. Lyme Regis is lovely too. We would recommend visiting Dorchester, Sidmouth, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Charmouth. Many eateries and coffee shops. We would thoroughly recommend The Black Dog at Uplyme for an excellent lunch at a very reasonable price. The local countryside is beautiful too.

Very clean and has everything you need to make you feel at home. Love the fact there is a hoover etc. Fabulous walk to the beach by the river and so close to drive to the beach (5 min drive) Really is in a good position for everything you want to do. My granddaughter loved the raised level bed and hasn't stopped talking about it. The cottage is warm and cosy with a homely feel with a very well equipped kitchen. 10/10

However we were unhappy that the cottage is right on an extremely busy and noisy road, and that this is not made clear on the write up for this property. It only says that it is in a rural setting. You cannot stop anywhere near to the property to unload, and the only parking is a few spaces slightly up on the other side of the busy road. If all the spaces are taken thatâs a problem. The cleanliness was ok on the whole but there were areas that had been missed and the cleaning needs improvement. Would stay in Uplyme again for sure but not here because of its location.
