About this property

For a fun and quirky getaway on a working farm, book a break at this barn conversion. It’s great for a mixed group and their dog looking for a peaceful holiday with lots of outdoorsy adventures and relaxed sociable time, set in stunning North Devon.

This property is inverted level, so you’ll begin with the bedrooms and then walk upstairs for the communal spaces. Enter a hallway, rich with wood panelling, to see three comfortable bedrooms. There’s a king-size room, a double and a twin, all equipped with en-suites for privacy and convenience. The bath/shower rooms are gorgeously tiled, and the bedrooms contrast shades of sand with deep blue. Head upstairs for an open-plan living space featuring a kitchen, lounge and diner with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beam and a wood burner. You can watch films, play games and chat in the lounge area, then prepare food in the kitchen – and make delicious drinks with the coffee machine – then eat at the farmhouse-style table. You’ll have access to the garden from the living space, enclosed (not sure how, no pictures) and featuring a lawn, patio, seating area and a BBQ, perfect for sunny afternoons.

This property is in a remote area, and it’s perfectly located for anyone who loves outdoorsy days out. Pack your pup and a picnic, then visit the Exmoor National Park (8.5 miles), which is full of incredible wildlife, or view ancient woodland at Eggesford Forest, 11 miles. Equestrians should check out Collacott Equestrian Centre, 3 miles, for incredible hacking for all abilities, and golfers are welcome at The Mole Resort Golf Club (6 miles). Pub less than a mile away at George Nympton.

Beautifully presented cottage and an excellent welcome pack of cake, milk, bread and eggs. Definitely recommend!

was a lovely host and we really appreciated the welcome package with eggs, bacon, bread and a homemade cake. The cottage is very clean and nicely appointed, having a washer and dryer proved very useful. The location is very peaceful and we really enjoyed the silence and just hearing the sound of birds and the rustling of the trees. The countryside is also very inviting to do some walks along the country lanes. South Molton is a brisk walk away and offers nice tea rooms and small shops. The market twice a week is also a nice place to visit and for all other necessities there is a Sainsbury’s in town which we found to be well stocked. I can highly recommend this cottage and they are adding a games room on the farmyard which will be a nice addition.

Accommodation was excellent and unusual to find 3 good size bedrooms with lovely en-suites. Very peaceful location with no disturbance from farming activities. Surrounding lanes are narrow but we experienced little traffic. Very enjoyable stay and the welcome pack was excellent, especially the home baked sponge! Thank you.
