Guests say

Toad Hall Cottage in Devon is a charming and quirky property that offers a peaceful rural retreat with a characterful touch. Guests appreciate its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and the enclosed garden which is perfect for dogs. The property's central location is ideal for exploring South Devon, with friendly neighbours and local pubs enhancing the experience. Some guests suggest improvements in directions and minor maintenance, but overall, the cottage provides a delightful stay.

The majority of guests found the cottage clean and well-maintained, though a few noted areas where cleaning could be improved, such as kitchen appliances and cutlery. The positive remarks outweigh the negatives, indicating a generally high standard of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions. Guests enjoy the rural setting and find it a convenient base for exploring. However, some found the narrow lanes challenging and suggested better signage could enhance accessibility.

Guests generally find the cottage cosy and comfortable, especially noting the comfortable bed and the warmth provided by the log burner. Some guests experienced issues with heating and dampness, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

Facilities are well-received, with the property being well-equipped for a pleasant stay. However, there are comments about the need for clearer instructions for the induction hob and TV, and some minor maintenance issues. The positive experiences with the facilities overall suggest a good score, with room for improvement.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as it relates to gifts, as reviews do not consistently mention this aspect. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

Property is beautiful, really cosy, and for 1 adult and a small dog ample in size Kitchen is fully equipped including an air fryer, and with underfloor heating in the dressing area, and a wood burning stove, toasty warm Owner really nice and got a broadband glitch fixed asap with great communication, and also recommended some places for us to go You have to be, or quickly become confident with country roads in this area because it is gloriously remote, but busier places are quickly accessible Loved it, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone

Couldn't get the heating to work and the George Inn wasn't open on Monday evening as your guide book suggested. Very minor points but overall our stay was everything we wanted!

We had some really good walks and the weather couldn’t have been better.
