About this property

Sitting on the outskirts of Ilsington, within the Dartmoor National Park in Devon is this fabulous, semi-detached cottage of Wottonsbury. Enjoying exceptional views of the countryside, whilst being within easy reach of the coast, Wottonsbury is the perfect setting for a family of four who want the best of both worlds during their Devon getaway. After parking in one of the two provided parking spaces, take some time to absorb your lovely surroundings before walking down the gentle flight of steps to the house and heading inside. A large utility area greets you as your enter the dwelling: an idea space to leave your coat and boots (or maybe a wet furry friend by closing the internal stable door) before moving into the comfortable house. You'll find the sitting room located off the attractive hallway: a superb space for unwinding, thanks to its charming furnishings and TV. After a moment of relaxation, continue to the kitchen/diner, a room that has not only been attractively designed but also features everything you need to create culinary treats, alongside offering a coffee machine for the mornings. After the budding chef of the family has rustled up dinner here, enjoy it at the dining table, or take it out to one of the gardens for an alfresco meal. As the day comes to an end, retreat upstairs to two delightful bedrooms, a king-size and a twin (which can be a super-king double bed on request) that enjoy far-reaching views of the rolling hills. Also on this floor rests the bathroom, a well-fitted space with a bath and separate walk-in shower for you to unwind in before or after a day packed with fun. Make the most of the outdoor spaces and venture out to the garden, where multiple patios host ample seating for you to relax on as you soak up the vistas; there's also a fire pit, so you can enjoy toasty nights under the stars.

Wottonsbury is located just one mile from the famous Haytor Rocks on Dartmoor which offers a great starting point for extended walks or picnic. Wild swimming for those who dare.

Travel a little further into the moor for a cream tea in the ancient village of Widecombe in the Moor or to enjoy a local beer in the garden of the The Rugglestone Inn. Teignmouth, Paignton, and Torquay are all close by, offering coastal excursions.

Local sporting facilities include floodlit municipal tennis courts, small skate park and children play area 1 minute from the house and a 15-minute drive to Bovey Tracey golf course and heated outside municipal pool.

A marvellous stay for you and your loved ones awaits at Wottonsbury.

The property was immaculate, and is probably the best equipped holiday home we have ever stayed in.

It is a lovely, comfortable, spacious cottage and it is the most well equipped we have ever stayed in! And not only did Bridget provide some lovely welcome gifts for the humans, Cleo (our cavapoo) had her own little pack. Bridget is a very helpful host with recommendations etc. The local pub (The Carpenters Arms) and the village shop are fabulous as is the spa hotel nearby which we went to for a delicious champagne afternoon tea. These are all within walking distance. I can highly recommend!
