Guests say

Pound Cottage in Devon receives high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and well-maintained facilities. Guests appreciate the tranquil location, stunning views, and the warm welcome from the host, Jenny. The garden is a highlight, especially for dog owners, though some mention the area is not fully secure. The cottage's modern amenities and thoughtful touches, such as a welcome tray, contribute to a delightful stay. While some note the remoteness and proximity to an industrial facility, the overall sentiment is extremely positive, with many guests planning to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviewers consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as spotless and well cared for, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

The location is generally appreciated for its tranquillity and views, though some guests mention the remoteness and proximity to an industrial facility. The balance of positive comments about the peaceful setting and accessibility to local attractions supports a high score.

Guests frequently highlight the comfort of the cottage, mentioning the comfortable bed, warm and cosy atmosphere, and spaciousness, suggesting a very comfortable stay.

The facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen, modern wet room, and garden, are often praised. However, a few guests noted the lack of complete security in the garden for dogs and the presence of an industrial facility nearby, which slightly impacts the score.

It’s a prefect couple’s hideaway. Pound Cottage is so well equipped with everything you need, whether a full holiday or a long weekend getaway, which is what we did. It’s spacious, beautifully decorated, very peaceful and very close to all the local Devon attractions if you want to go out. The garden is so vast and stunning and our dog loved it. It’s also secure if you have a dog like ours with little recall. Jenny left us a tray of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits etc for our arrival. We also had good communication beforehand about key arrangements. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking and we easily cooked a full English breakfast. The whole cottage was immaculate, very comfortable and very homely. There’s even a cupboard of doggie essentials complete with doggy and beach towels. The WiFi is good and there’s lots of DVD’s if you want a quiet evening in. The bed is very comfortable and things like a hairdryer, handwash, kitchen rolls, toilet rolls, washing up liquid and brand new washing up brushes made all the difference. We would highly recommend the cottage and we will definitely be returning!

We were warmly welcomed by the owner, but then left to our own devices. On entry the cottage was warm. A tray was set with choices of teas and coffee and a jug of milk, in the kitchen. All cutlery and crockery etc, that we needed was provided. Going through to the lounge the spectacular views were the first thing that wowed. The lounge/ diner was very comfortable, with plenty of seating. A very good modern TV and a video recorder with numerous choices of films, if you have time to watch. Most importantly the large double bed was extremely comfortable. The bedroom quite spacious. A good size toilet and shower room completed the package. Jenny (the owner) was very friendly when we bumped into her in the garden. Altogether a lovely get away,
