The market town of Okehampton (7 miles) is where you''ll find the nearest pubs and cafés, along with tea rooms and independent shops for picking up souvenirs and fresh produce. Tavistock and Launceston, both around 15 miles away, are also worth the trip. For a day at the beach, Bude, on Cornwall''s north coast of Cornwall, is only 23.5 miles away - wonderful for exploring sandy shores and surf shops.
