About this property

Bluebell Cottage is a romantic, semi-detached cottage resting in the village of Mary Tavy, Devon. Offering pet-friendly accommodation in Dartmoor National Park, this peaceful dwelling features off-road parking, a large private garden with outdoor seating, and countryside views with plenty of walks nearby. Step inside to find a beautifully appointed interior with great attention to detail; to your left is a utility with laundry facilities and a cloakroom. The open-plan kitchen/diner is a bright and airy space to prepare evening meals using high-quality appliances, whilst admiring the surrounding countryside views. On warmer nights, open the bi-fold doors to let the outside in as you dine at the table for four, followed by a glass of wine in the garden which has plenty of outdoor seating, lawn space, and a secluded decking to stargaze by the fire pit. Cooler nights can be spent snuggled up in the sitting room with a wall-mounted Smart TV for entertainment. When it's time to unwind, head upstairs to freshen up in the bathroom, before retiring to the double bedroom where you'll awaken to views of the rolling fields. Mary Tavy is a picturesque village to call home whilst exploring Dartmoor: with a Post Office and shop, The Mary Tavy Inn and plenty of attractions close by such as the Merrivale Prehistoric Settlement, scenic walks to Roos Tor, and Becky Falls Ancient Woodland Park. For a taste of Devon's stunning countryside and coast, enjoy a romantic retreat in Dartmoor National Park at Bluebell Cottage.

Mary Tavy gets its name from the 13th-century St. Mary's chapel and the surrounding River Tavy. It's located in the Dartmoor National Park, near Tavistock. The community once housed the world's largest copper mine, Wheal Friendship, as well as lead and tin mines. The community has a Post Office and a tavern, The Mary Tavy Inn, where you may have a meal and a pint. Take a stroll along the gorgeous shoreline, or explore the National Park. Home to 368 square miles of natural delights, Dartmoor National Park boasts a plethora of walking and cycling routes through steep wooded river valleys to enticing archaeological sites such as Spinster's Rock, Grimspound and Higher Uppacott. Outdoor activities include canoeing, climbing, geocaching, and more. Visit the award-winning market town of Tavistock, the only town in Devon to possess world heritage status. This beautiful town is home to a popular indoor pannier market, a broad selection of shops, an outstanding choice of pubs, bistros, restaurants, a theatre, and a cinema, as well as a leisure pool. The National Cycle Route 27, Drakes Trail, and the West Devon Way to Plymouth are all easily accessible. Visit Okehampton, the walking centre of Devon, to see a Victorian shopping arcade, the Museum of Dartmoor Life, a lovely park, and the second oldest Norman Castle in the county. Mary Tavy is a great location for exploring Plymouth, Exeter, Torquay, Paignton, and the Tamar Valley aonb.
